I went to check out the Brompton foldable bikes. Turns out Treadly hire them for reasonable rates ($40 for 24 hours and $35 per day after that). Sam was really flexible and said I could extend this time over the phone if required. I highly recommend hiring one of these little bike out while in Adelaide as you can take them (folded) on public transport, so it's a great way to explore the area and get some exercise too.

Without a doubt, this was one of the highlights of my stay in Adelaide. Martin's communication was excellent - always kept informed as to drop-off/collection times (even tracking him on Google Maps!). He's clearly passionate about cycling and his business. My Merida Scultura 4000 was in great condition - perfectly well-maintained and ideal for the rides I did. Martin made sure everything was set up exactly as I needed it and that I had any spares / CO2 etc. I might need. The riding in the ADL area was nothing short of epic. The city has spent a lot recently on cycling infrastructure so even riding around/through ADL is great. Highly recommend heading south on the bikeway to McLaren vale, then taking on Old Wilunga Hill before heading back up via Range Road. Amazing scenery. And the Adelaide Hills really lived up to their name - plenty of climbs on another epic ride up there! Will defo be back for more.
