We have enjoyed two very good meals here since the new owners have taken over. The dining room has been revamped, the service greatly improved and a new young chef is producing very good meals with much being "fait maison". Worth a visit. Currently only open at lunch time

Monica had heard about the restaurant via the local Tourism Office in Capestang, where we were staying.Our bike ride was lovely, on an old rail trail and we still managed to get lost after a wrong turnoff leaving Capestang!We arrived at our destination, and Lo and behold we thought all locals, a great sign, and all had settled in. It was Friday, and a beautiful day, so everyone was eating outside.We were seated and the only uncomfortable moment was the waiter explaining to use the scandal course of the day, which included tartare de cheval. I was puzzled until he mischievously translated for me, and my response was too loud for the confines. Other than that, the meal and wine was exceptional, and we ended up chatting to our nearby table companions from Ireland.A lovely lunch and a safe ride home. Highly recommend the ride and dine experience.Thank you

We were really excited to read reviews and had called to see menu previously before booking.We had our table for the whole evening which was lovely. No rush to get you out here.We felt that the food was under seasoned somewhat, and I only add seasoning to food when itâs being cooked and never after itâs on the plate.The flavours were not strong enough to notice for our palates even though I have no doubt that everything was made with care and attention and best quality ingredients and there were some lovely ideas. Beware if you ask for the fillet steak because medium rare (or a point) comes back as medium+.Sorry not one we will return to.

We were fortunate to spend 2 weeks in and around St. Chinian and we visited Tillou several times during our stay. Each visit we had fantastic service ( our lovely waitress spoke perfect English). It is evident that this restaurant has many regulars from many different backgrounds and everyone was very friendly. We sampled various items from the menu including at least 6 types of pizza and enjoyed every one of them. Their pizza crust is nice and thin and there is no holding back on the specific toppings that you order. I can also recommend the salads and pasta choices. The restaurant is quaint and there is nothing better on a spring evening than to sit outside on a patio and enjoy local cuisine and wines. C'est tres beau!!

I think I've reviewed near 1,000 restaurants and enjoyed many of them, but every now and then we get treated to something truly exceptional and 'La Table' is one of those.The decor is delightful the ambience relaxed and comfortable, no stiff and starchy feelings here. Staff are welcoming and most speak good English, not that this is important. Service is polite, friendly, helpful and discreet. The wine list has something for all palates and budgets but my adage is that when in Rome...etc and, as the estate produces some very good wines it seems a pity not to sample their home grown wines - they're excellent. The menu a surprise degustation format is a truly wonderful experience with each dish ( we had 5 plus amuse bouches) with delights to the senses at every bite. My descriptions fall well short of describing the quality, freshness, innovation and flavours you'll experience here. Go out of you way to visit and be delighted. Merci a l'equipe entiere!

This is a fantastic place to go for Sunday lunch! It is hidden away in a very small hamlet way off the beaten track, but it is well worth finding.The dining room is rustic with a huge fireplace where they roast their homegrown(!) chickens in the winter months. Aroma is fantastic! It is not a fancy place but the food is SO good!

The last review we wrote of Le Village was very disappointed. Since that time, a new chef and owner has taken over the restaurant. He is delightful and creates delicious and beautiful meals. I especially enjoy going there, because there are a number of foods that I am unable to eat. The chef is always able to find some delicious substitute for me. The meals are beautifully presented; the prices are wonderfully reasonable. If you are looking for a restaurant in Saint-Chinian, you may miss seeing Le Village, because it is way down at the end of the Grand Rue, almost to the bridge, but check it out. We don't think you'll be disappointed.

Had a very nice dinner in this center of Lanquedoc wine country. The proprietress certainly helped with my poor French language command. My starter was a thinly sliced beef carpaccio with tomatoes, lettuce, parmesan shaved cheese and pesto sauce. Very tasty. Next was brochette of lamb with onion and peaches on the brochette and a nice ratatouille with flash grilled potatoes. Fromage included saint albray, a blue and I think a crottin chavignol goat cheese. Dessert was chocolate and coffee (?) ice cream. The wine was a local Saint Chinian Domaine Moulinier 2017. Double express and an after dinner local wine known as Maury Comaire des Soulanes 2015 finished my evening. A very good dinner amongst nice people.

Outside appearances can be deceptive. Walk through the somewhat austere bar to the charming garden restaurant at the back. If you have not booked then probably best to arrive by 12.30 latest to as good disappointment. Wide choice of food but the 3 course lunch menu including a quarter carafe of wine each at 14.90 euros was tremendous value. The food was great; the service very efficient and friendly and the ambience great.

Les carrasses is exactly that we were missing here in our region. Beautiful property, breathtaking views... modern and traditional at the same time. Most of the clients are anglophones, so the menue is friendly to international tastes. Possibility to drink at the bar, eat outside or inside. Menue changes often. We remarked that the food was of higher quality during the low season. Looks like the chief struggles to meet the high demand at the high season and not always gets a success in it.Two main negative points: the service and the price of wines. The service really needs to be improved. As for the prices of wines... well, guys, we know as well as you that we are in the region where the wines cost pea-nuts. So, we are quiet shocked not to find any single bottle on the wine list cheaper than 28 euros (+++). This only reduces the consolation. Apply the fare price (not multiplied by 5) and clients will order 2 bottles instead of one. Otherwise nice property, we will be back and advise our friends to go there.Hi Mary,Thanks very much for your review.
