Le Cabanon de la Butte

On previous visits to Paris we have enjoyed lunch at Le Cabanon and decided to try it for dinner. It is every bit as good. The dining room is pleasant with great views over the city and the service is friendly. The dishes represent the best of French country cooking and the portions are generous.

We ordered the complete meal which was 45 euros per head. Some of the dishes were amazing while the rest were very good. My top three favorites were:1. Pineapple desert with soy sauce and vinegar pearls. This might sound strange but the sweetness of the pineapple contrasts nicely with the saltiness of the soy sauce and tartness of the vinegar pearls.2. Tuna tataki with pickled radish. 3. Line caught fish with yuzu puree. Citrusy flavors usually go well with seafood.Least favorite was Baba au Cheongha, but it's not the dishes fault, we just can't stand alcohol. We just tried it out of curiosity despite its alcohol content. The waiter was very accommodating and took his time in introducing the dishes served to us. Thank you for giving us a great dinner in Paris. A bientot!

Le Relais des Broc's

We had lunch here on Saturday before branching out to explore the local flea market. First, the wine by the glass was excellent and very reasonable. The service was also very good. The food was OK by probably non-Frech likes, means - no offense - they like their meat more bloody than me. The rest was indeed good.

L'Arcane

We really, really wanted to enjoy our last night at a special restaurant and we are thrilled to have found L'Arcane. The service was excellent and friendly, the outside ambiance was refreshing and the food was unbelievable! We opted for the wine paired dinners since the menu was a surprise. The wines paired perfectly with each course and each course was described to us when presented. Such a wonderful evening for our last night in France. Note that due to their popularity, it's a good idea to make reservations in advance. We actually made ours before leaving for vacation!

Great find in Paris! Reasonably priced and attentive service, restaurant had a good atmosphere too. We opted for foie gras as a starter between two and 2 fillet steaks, it was nice you got to try 3 sauces, we also added vegetables on the side - all very good! Worth a trip if you’re in Paris, thank you

Cafe Jean

Café Jean is an authentic Parisian brasserie! The dishes are fresh and "homemade". Close to the Vilette, Zénith, Philharmonie and the city of music, Café Jean promises a friendly atmosphere, family and transgenerational with a team of care from 8am to 2am

The main advantage of Cafe Jean was being open during the "dead" hours between lunch and dinner, or for us, between museum and concert. I wish we had chosen one of the many multinational eateries in the area, but we opted for French... and got a very so-so meal and service. I got a pork chop (juicy but extremely fatty) with mashed potatoes (which arrived cold and had to be sent back to be microwaved). My husband ordered a Burger Jean, instead of which they first brought him a steak frites by mistake - which probably could have been a better choice, because the burger was supposed to feature sautéed onions, pickles, and more, but had none of these things, only the soupy sauce which made the bun soggy. I would have mentioned the missing accompaniments to the staff, but my husband so dislikes any public disagreements that he asked me not to. We finished our meal quickly - nothing to savor or linger on.
