Le Cosy

Came following both the reviews and locals suggestions The menu is slightly confusing but understandable. The main thrust of the food is Galettes (savoury crepes) and sweet crepes. The food was very good and ample proportions. The staff convivial and helpful. It’s easy to while away the evening here especially as you can eat inside, facing the town square outside or if lucky get. Balcony table literally over the Loire river with stunning views. This combination, good food, great position and friendly staff is a winning mix in my book and I don’t hesitate to recommend it. The locals we know also thought it was brilliant.

For the most part Longue is very quiet and the restaurants are not open! Use the website to find out when this one is! We were very lucky to get in at 2000 on a Friday and had a superb meal. Menu of the day but lots of choices, and excellent food. Very pleasant, helpful Staff. Good wines. Very good price (Menu started at €11.50) with local delicacies and more. Good wine, too. Thanks to you for your compliments, we hope to see again(to revise) you one day in our inn. Cordially all the team : Marion, Gilles et Isabelle

This was a great experience, 4 of us and two for the first time. Somewhat formal but nice atmosphere, very good and personal service from both people, friendly and also some explanations in English for two of us. The food was delicious and several dishes quite imaginative. The recommended wine was very nice too but probably fairly expensive, offered to us by our friends. In summary, we would really like to come back!

Reviewed By mangetoutsaumur

Situated in a lovely little village, this is a small family run auberge who serve fantastic food. Modern interior, or eat on the outside terrace. The place is spotless, cleanest toilets I have seen in France! The people that own it are lovely, so welcoming and helpful. We eat dinner there every week without fail. The chef really knows his stuff. Starters are imaginative and cost on average 8.5 euros, main courses range from 14.50 to 19.50 and puddings are 6.50. There are always four choices in each. They are closed for their summer break at the moment and we are bereft! Finding something to compare is not easy and we are 'seasoned' restaurant goers. They do a great weekday menu du jour at around 13 euros, well worth it.

L'Auberge De Beaufort

Really this restaurant was chosen because of its reviews and also close to Domaine Moncourt, a wine merchant in the town where we were to go and collect over €500 worth of wine we had ordered. The restaurant has a feel of a modern space, it felt light and airy. There lunch menu for €14 was exceptional value, we had starters of, I had a warm salad with mushrooms and rillets, very tasty. Mains were a Turkey fillet with a bacon and cheese topping served with french fries, I felt it could have done with a sauce. The other main was Galette de Sarasin with egg and cheese, ham omitted by request. The meal came with a glass of wine or cider. Desserts were a nice Creme Brulee and a lemon pancake, again it was adorned with a sort of lemon jam rather than some lemon juice.Service was excellent throughout the service and we left having very full stomachs. The quality of the food was excellent from 1 chef and 2 assistants. The restaurant was quite full when we left. and I can see why is is so popular, I couldn't really fault anything. With a public car park next door it is somewhere to visit if you are in the area.
