Kulpakji

Reviewed By jinesh74

We decided to go o this Jain temple when we visited Hyderabad. The place is also called Kulpakji and is very familiar to Jains. The temple is known to many Jains who are regular going on pilgrimage. The main idol here is around 2000 years old of Shri Mahavir Swami. There are also idols of Adeshwar Bhagwan, Neminath bhagwan and Parshwanathji & Simandharswamiji. The whole temple is divided in three parts. Main temple old one is in centre and on right side newly made temple of chowmukhji with Simandharswami as mulnayak. on left side there is Guru mandir of Jindatt suriji. The old Dharamshala is engulfing the temple perifery also there is new dharamshala neary by having better facilities then old one. There is no rent for old dharamshala and for new dharamshala rent is 500 rupees per day. Its huge complex and there is facility for Hot water and Food (Bhojanshala) . The cost is not there whatever you want to donate you can for stay and for Food also. We reached there at Night and settled in old dharamshala as we had not done booking. It was simple room with Toilet and 2 beds. Since it is free and old it's not very well maintained. Advisable to stay in new dharamshala only. In morning you hear birds chirping and Monkeys jumping on your roof , lots of them in whole compound. There is utmost silence otherwise and you have a different feeling if you are from a crowded city. Morning 8 am the pakshal starts, three persons are allowed from family who takes chadhava or Boli. Rate is 2.5 Rs per Mun. We were lucky to do pooja along with family who took chadhava as priest was kind enough to let us do some rituals. They take out the shield from Idol for nearly 20-3- minutes during which you have darshan of Shri Mahavir bhagwans idol totally of Dark green colour. Its magnificent and unique as I have never seen any idol like this before. Navkarsi starts from 7.30 am ill 9.00 am where you have breakfast . We did pooja first and then took Breakfast. We left at 10.15 am as we had to visit 2 other temples of 72 Jinalaya near Medchal and Navgraha Temple at Chevalla. I woul strongly recommend staying here for at least 2 days here to experience real serinity and peace. The place is accessible from Alair Station also via Auto but there are very few and they can charge upto Rs 200 for 8 km distance. Alair can be reached from Secundarabad Railway Station though few trains are there through day.

Thousand Pillar Temple

Reviewed By deepakb861

The temple is situated in the heart of warangal city. One shall feel proud of INDIAN heritage, construction techniques on entering the temple. From out side ,the temple resembles one single stone block like Ellora Kailash temple .But it is a temple made of several stone blocks ,all interlocked. The look of the temple and its architecture gives an impression that there are 1000 pillers but it is not true. Except the locking system between the stones ,no lime morter is used..There is inlay hairline gaps between the stones. IT speaks of very high technology which was in force in ancient India

Pakhal Lake

Reviewed By SujathaS103 - Hyderabad District, India

Very beautiful lake and we went on a super boat ride. There are crocodiles in the lake and we saw some of them resting in the small areas sun bathing. Beautiful park on the other side next to the lake with swings. People interested in cycling can hire bikes. Lovely resort with good amenities. The food in the resorts I heard was not good. We stayed closer to the Rammappa temple but the place we stayed did not serve good food either. Only the morning breakfast was okay. Overall good place to visit.
