# min. off Hwy 61 best Gouda cheese anywhere Freshness and flavor unsurpassed I love cheese and eat too much of it. We buy all our curds and ridiculous variety of Gouda. They ship world wide and are busy doing that and that says it all. 10/10 I would give them 11 if it were possible.We are proud of this Thunder Bay gem.

The Terry Fox Monument is a beautiful tribute to a real Canadian hero. He continues to be an inspiration to generations of Canadians. As September marks the annual Terry Fox runs throughout Canada and the world for Cancer Research, it was especially fitting that we dropped by the monument on our visit to Thunder Bay. There was a lot of care and attention given here, even to the roadway into the monument area. It affords an excellent view of Thunder Bay and Lake Superior beyond. The monument itself is very special and the plaque detailing the Terry Fox story is important for all to read.

I spent 3 hours at this mine and wish I'd spent more time there. ALL the praise for this mine is true. The many types of beautiful amethyst here are fairly easy to find and don't require much washing. There are also lots of great, professionally cleaned samples for sale at reasonable prices. The owner is a very accomodating, generous, and likeable gentleman. I highly recommend this experience to people of all ages.

My son and I quite enjoyed the current exhibit dedicated to Canada's 150th Anniversary. The gallery is beautiful, with three different rooms for exhibit. the hightlight was aboriginal art from the gallery vault interspersed with current art from local and northern Ontario artists. The gift shop was also very welcoming.

I frequent the conservatory on a fairly regular basis and I leave happy, peaceful and relaxed every time. I love going during the different seasons especially winter as Thunder Bay is well known for them (burrrr!). I go with friends or by myself, I've had picnics there and have made some wonderful memories. I'm always excited to go back!

This is one of my favourite parks in Thunder bay and is great for watching super moons and just enjoying the great view of T-Bay and the sleeping giant. Park is fun and new. the garden is always a relaxing space. (it also has an outhouse)

All I can say about Silver Falls is “wow”! My fiancé and I spent 4.5 hours on the trail and made it to the third set of falls before we decided to turn back. The trail is tough, with lots of ups and downs and many challenging obstacles (not for the inexperienced hiker), but it’s well worth it! It’s a bit difficult to find the trailhead, as it requires turning down a road leading to a hydro station. Due to the treacherous nature of the trail, I recommend stopping at Dog Falls (the first, and largest, set of falls you’ll find) if you’re not prepared for a challenge. The view is spectacular, and you can actually get close enough to the water to feel the spray on your face! It’s a truly incredible experience. You won’t regret checking out this hidden gem!
