The highest mountain in the lesser Antilles is also a volcano and an important landmark of Guadeloupe's landscape.
We never made it to the top because Mother Nature got in the way with wind, rain, fog. Still the effort was satisfying and the occasional breaks in the weather allowed us to see spectacular vistas of countryside and the Caribbean. Not for the faint of heart but well worth the effort. As others have said this is a climb, especially the last portion, and coming down is definitely more difficult if the weather is bad. Good footwear, layers of clothing and water are a necessity.

If you are looking for a perfect catalogue-like beach, then that`s the correct choice. Crystal clear water, white sand and coconut trees are the real caribbean treasure.

Great beach, very calm water, lots of shade and many food choices, who could ask for more Just down the road past the cemetery is the place where good snorkeling can be found

Took a drive out to the Pointe, parked on the roadside and then climbed along the well made path to the tip - Great views and lovely to see - Amazing seeing the Rock formations in the Cliff and then afterwards, checking out the Rock Pools and fish! We tried the Coconut Ice Cream for the first time there - It was Gorgeous - No Alcohol and really refreshing! - you really do need to try it whenever you see them mixing it by the roadside lay-by's

This is a very interesting museum and should be on your list of places to go on Grande Terre. There was no entry fee, just tickets to enter distributed by very friendly staff. We were also very interested by the gardens between the museum and the 'cliff' going down to the 'beach'. The gardener was a wealth of interesting information and could describe the health benefits of each and every plant - he was so knowledgeable! We had such fun talking with him. Find the steps down to a very pretty beach with cows/bulls tied up along the way!

Some really great snorkeling here on either side of the beach. Not very crowded on a Friday. Tasty food at the top of the beach, just be prepared to wait about 10 minutes but worth it!

Parking is close to the beach. There were a few boats on the ocean. There are trees, even the palm trees. Swimming in the ocean was perfect! The beach was light brown. There are some rocks as well. What a great day! Worthwhile to see!
