Ranka Monastery

Reviewed By rpdjans - Chennai (Madras), India

IT is such a calm and serene place to visit. WE were the first to visit. We reached there on our return from gangtok in the morning by 9AM. It was such a sight to behold and have the monastery all for yourself Monks do stay there and there is such good view for mountains and breeze all around. A stretch of road to the monastery is not so good though that doesn't matter when you get such amazing views.

Reviewed By NikkyB47 - Mumbai, India

I along with my wife visited Hanuman Tok on 30th Jan'21. Hanuman Tok is around 11 km from Gangtok and is located at height of approximately 7000 feet on the upper reaches of Gangtok. The temple is dedicated to lord Hanuman, and maintained by the Indian army. It was established in 1952. Hanuman Tok offers a spectacular view of Kanchenjunga and has beautiful view-point where one can capture the beauty of nature and cherish it for lifetime. Please Note - Don't forget to go to the building exactly opposite to the main Hanuman temple as its has whole story of Hanuman Tok beautifully engraved and written. Jai Barangbali

Reviewed By KarmaTempa - Gangtok, India

Tsukglakhang Monastery is actually not a sightseeing point per se .It is the chapel for the Royal family of Sikkim where ceremonies are held on important days such as Pang Lhabsol ,where the mountain deity Khangchendzonga is revered and worshiped, starting with Neysol prayers and with the Dabla Pangtoed cham known as the Warriors dance. The Tsuklakhang Monastery lies in the premises of the Royal palace compound, and is the highest point in the Gangtok area marked by a rock in the compound. A request to travelers,to maintain the sanctity of the palace area.Follow the simple rules put down for any monastery and be kind to each other.
