One of the best places in Rafina. A traditional small church above the port of Rafina. An excellent and wonderful view of the entire sea around.

Walk or take the funicular tramway to the top of this hill for the best views of Athens
Get a taxi to the funicular railway, and when you get out at the top, a couple of flights of steps will bring you out to the church and terrace, with 360° views of the city, looking down on the Olympic stadium and the Acropolis and across to Piraeus. There are a couple of bar/restaurants so you can have a drink and take in the views

Historic neighborhood located at the base of the hill topped by the Acropolis.
This area of town came highly recommended from friends that have visited Athens multiple times. It is full of delicious restaurants, great shopping (touristy stuff and clothes/shoes), and has a very young and hipster-ish vibe. There is plenty to do and see, but it gets pretty crowded and busy, so steer clear if that isn't your scene.

Perfect selection of bars and restaurants and gorgeous views of the Marina. We had dinner in TGI Friday's, staff were great and menu selection was plenty, speedy service....

I like megalo kavouri (big crab) mostly because is still free with good blue waters. The surrounding environment reminds a lot island with many pine trees and sand hills!

Marathon Lake is absolutely beautiful, and a "classic" dam make s it more attractive. It is not necessarily a tourist attraction, but a very nice place to stop and relax before heading out to your next destination.

All the reports regarding this hike are valid. It takes 1 1/2 to 2 hours each way. This trail becomes more challenging the higher you go. Path more uneven and actually steeper. You need to wear proper hiking shoes, wear a hat, have a liter of water & if you use hiking poles generally than bring them. I wouldn’t hike this in the rain. The views are wonderful, the monastery - spiritual & peaceful. If you choose to go on to the top you can but since I went later in the day I was set with what I did....

This is a very challenging hike and definitely a grade 1 hard. Take a minimum 1.5 liters of water per person. This is a proper workout and I felt the effects days after. All in all it took us around 4.5 hours round trip I am 46 and my partner is 36. The last 30 minutes you are just following paint marked on rocks, no path and in some cases you need to scramble. Also be careful on the way back that you follow the path... Amazing views at the top and getting back still requires a lot of energy you’ll want a well deserved beer and food.

Wonderful tour liked by kids and adults. Cute little gift shop. Really impressive to see the turtles.
