Top 10 Food Tours in Dubrovnik, Dalmatia

January 26, 2022 Sheron Bogner

Dubrovnik has recovered from the war damage it suffered during the 1990s, and visitors have returned to this tranquil city. Nestled between the Adriatic and the Dinaric Alps, it’s an accessible and affordable city break for many European travelers. The pedestrian-only Old Town is especially charming.

Luckily we found Damir’s number in the information center who kindly picked up the phone on sunday morning and soon showed up and provided a tour of Dubrovnik. Damir is a true local who used to live in the city center and is very well informed and knowledgeable about the city and its history as well as game of thrones nuances. I can wholeheartedly recommend spending your day in Dubrovnik with Damir - it’s a quarantee that you’ll be satiafied

Such an amazing experience! not only do you get to try at least 10 different local delicacies (seafood and meat options) and at least 4 incredible indigenous local wine varieties (including desert wine). The tour includes an comprehensive cultural, architectural and historic overview of Dubrovnik and it's people. And if that hadn't been enough they email you afterwards with a list of other hidden gems to continue your own discovery of the city"s secret places. We got so much more for our money than I had ever hoped for. Thank you to our extremely knowledgeable and charming host Ana!

We love oysters. We love wine. We love to travel and explore new areas. 100%. Exceeded Expectations. Picked up from Old Town. Toured by car. Visited Oyster Farm. Taken on boat to Oyster bed. Oysters pulled fresh from water, cleaned, served with wine. Taken to winery. Tasted a couple young white wines and a couple red wines paired with a bit of cheese. Our lovely guide explained the wine process, the pairing process, the aged wine process, and even provided education of cork vs screw top. Finally a quick visit to old Ston. We explored the Salt process. All this in one tour. Very well put together. I would recommend to others with similar interested and 1/2 day to take it all in. We were picked up at 9 AM. We were dropped back off about 4 hours later.

Part of the Dubrovnik food tours is a boat tour with Maro. We were a group of six that went on his boat with him touring different locations off shore. He was very welcoming and fun to spend the day touring around. He also made us a fresh clam dish and oysters right from the Adriatic Sea on his boat. His was alos very informative on other things to do around Croatia, since we were traveling to many parts of the country. I would highly recommend getting a tour with Maro.

Really enjoyed it. Kotor and Budva are beautiful. Picked up from the hotel, the driver/guide was very good and knowledgeable, I forgot his name otherwise I would personally praise him. I would recommend the trip. The price of it I thought was fair. 2 hours in each of the above towns is just enough to have a quick look round and visit a few buildings.
