Gourmet - La Scuola di Cucina di Asti

Reviewed By VillaArneis - Denver, United States

Great place for locals and visitors alike. It's been nearly three years since I've reviewed La Scuola di Cucina di Asti, since then I've been there several times and each time Enrico has done a great job. I'm always discovering new tips and I never get tired of the delicious dishes Enrico prepares with us. It's not a hands-on cooking class, but there are some opportunities to jump in and cook. IMPORTANT POINT: Some cooking classes can be quite frustrating for Americans since they can't find the ingredients at home or the techniques are too difficult. Not so with Chef Enrico. He spent 15 years in California (during which time he had his own restaurant in Beverly Hills) and therefore tailors his recipes to address the challenges Americans might have when replicating the dishes at home. His salsiccia ragu has become my go-to sauce for dinner parties. I serve it over polenta since I'm gnocchi-making challenged.

Sentieri Gastronomici

The paths are small parts of a single, long and fascinating journey in Piedmont. They are the continuation and the generation of each other, just as our lands are daughters and sisters of one another; from the mountains to the rice fields, from the hills to the river valleys.

10. Fabrizia Caldera

Fabrizia Caldera

Fabrizia Caldera, producer of Monferrato wines, continues a centuries-old history handed down for four generations. I am tied to tradition and the territory, in full respect of nature and man, attentive to modern market developments and increasingly oriented towards quality proposals. All wines are obtained from the grape variety, because the company believes to be characterized more not by confusing tastes and seeking the typicality of the product.
