Susie's Cuisine

Reviewed By Aveeno1991

We were treated to merienda at Susie's and we enjoyed the food and kakanins served us. The palabok comes in huge serving good for two and is both savory (but not salty) and very flavorful. The tibok tibok is a rich kakanin made of carabao's milk made into a custard and topped with sweet coconut latik (the northern Philippines variety which is crumbly and curd-ly). We thought we could not finish the generous orders but we did. There are also pasalubong shelves lining the walls where we picked up a few items to bring home. The restaurant is cafeteria style so pls dont expect table service. Everyone is pleasant nonetheless obliging to our additional requests.

Everybody's Cafe in San Fernando, Pampanga is the best place to be when craving for authentic Kapampangan foods like Morcon, Beef Karekare, Betute, fresh lumpia, Tidtad, and other Pinoy foods. Their service is superb and although the restaurant decor has not changed since my last visit a couple of years ago, their food is still excellently prepared and worth every peso. You might want to try their Chokolate de Baterol.... so yummy.

I am a halo-halo (mixture of sweetened delights topped with ice and milk) fanatic and tops on my list is Kabigting's halo-halo. I savor its creamy goodness brought about by the specially incorporated pastillas (candy made with fresh cow's milk). I always look forward to this dessert.

Denlim's Kitchen

Reviewed By Mario L

Denlim’s Kitchen is a laid-back Brick-Walled Working Area of a Panaderia, a reminiscent of the 60’s and our Lola’s Dirty-Kitchen, hence, you’ll really wonder what kind of food Den will produce out of this unique place... to be served on a long rugged wooden table & long-chairs (promdi-bangko’) with ubiquitous knicknacks of old bottles, utensils, & books. The homey feeling is very conducive for private family reunion, celebration with close friends, for intimate chitchats & loud-laughter and simply rebuilding camaraderie while enjoying your Cabernet Souvignon. But when the food came out one by one, as an amateur foodie, I was really amazed by the presentation, the plating and food arrangement & colors, all against the backdrop of the cozy Panaderia-setting. As consensus, we pre-ordered the following: Very Refreshing - “Summer Salad” Unstoppable “Mushroom & Mozzarela Bread”Reminder of the Spanish’ Gambas - “the Big Boy’s Shrimp”“**Pasta with Grilled Tomatoes”“**Salmon with Asparagus” “Caveman’s (Beef) Shank” (with charcoaled - sweet corn) “Liempo sa Pugon Wrap”Indeed, ‘twas the explosion of taste & fusion of Western, Oriental & Capampangan Cuisines, all pleasing to our palates. As friendly advice tho, based on experience, please do not be carried away in indulging too much on delicious starters — Bread with Mushroom & Mozzarela Cheese and Summer Salad — so you won’t regret having no more space for the next course... Kudos Chef Den, the year-long wait is all worth it!!!
