If you find yourself in the town of Mackay for any length of time, and you like chicken, be sure to make your way to Chick-A-Dee Takeaway on Nebo Road. This place has some of the best roasted chicken you have ever tasted. The bird is stuffed with a delicious dressing before it is roasted. The meat is tender and juicy, and cooked just right. We ordered a half of chicken and some chips. The woman behind the counter prepared an order of chips and asked us if we wanted gravy on them. We both looked at one another because we had never heard of such, and in unison, said, " no thank you". The look on the woman's face was one of genuine disappointment. And, in a questioning tone, she said, "you don't want gravy"? In order to make her feel better, I said, oh sure, let's give the gravy a try. When we got back to the car with our meal in the takeaway bag, we both mentioned her disappointment that we did not want the gravy. In short order, we learned why. Those chips with that gravy have to be one of the most delicious things we have eaten since traveling to Australia. They are so good, we'd vote for a franchise back in the States. On second thought, perhaps that's not a good idea. We have enough overweight Americans as it is, and it would be no time before we would have to count ourselves among them. Chick-A-Dee Takeaway is located on Nebo Road which is a major street with parking all along the street in front of the building. Just thinking about this place makes me hungry. I might add that the prices are very reasonable, and a great value.

We frequent Debbies just about every other Friday night for dinner and we consistently receive friendly service, exceptional quality seafood and they now have a great outdoor restaurant setting.Well worth trying if you have not been.Thankyou for your wonderful review,we are loving the new undercover eating area too

What can you say about Zambreroâs food, service and facilities? Consistent. They are clean with friendly staff. The food is good quality and you always know what you will get. With a little of your own tweaks, you can make your food that little extra spicy to meet your individual taste.

I finally got to try 3 Cheese Pizza yesterday, I have been wanting to visit & try their food for some time now. My family LOVE pizza - me, I am not so fussed BUT 3 Cheese Pizza BLEW MY MIND. It was tasty, plenty of toppings & super delicious. I bought the family deal for $50 which was 2 x family size pizza's, 1 x large lasagna, 2 x garlic breads & a 1.25 ltr of soft drink. Well we didn't even get through the two pizza's - they were HUGE! I am so lucky that we have left-overs for tonight & I do not have to cook - yippee! Thank you 3 Cheese Pizza for making me fall back in love with Pizza!

Why does trip advisor have reviews for fast food chain outlets. It's just like any other store in Mackay, Australia and pretty much the world. This outlet is good in that it's open very late on weekends due to the nightclub trade. I believe it's open to around 4am on Friday and Saturday depending on customer volume. It is a bit grubby at night with drunks but if you want something other then McDonalds its a good option.

I went with friends while passing through Mackay. The entree's, spring rolls and prawns were good. We also ordered chicken and corn soup. It was very watery. Mains were combination fried rice which was great; Singapore noodles good just a little spicier than I'm used to; and combination noodles. Very generous serves, good service and clean restaurant.

Efficient and helpful service - these fish and chips are fresh, tasty and hot. The batter or crumbing is great. Will look forward to visiting next time, but I think the business is for sale.
