Gourock (/ˈɡʊərək/ ( listen) GOOR-ək; Scottish Gaelic: Guireag [kuɾʲak]) is a town falling within the Inverclyde council area and formerly forming a burgh of the county of Renfrew in the West of Scotland. It has in the past functioned as a seaside resort on the East shore of the upper Firth of Clyde. Its principal function today, however, is as a popular residential area, extending contiguously from Greenock, with a railway terminus and ferry services across the Clyde.

This wee restaurant is part of the longstanding Anselmo's chippie next door, and although small, the food is excellent. Had a lovely meal of fish and chips with plenty of bread and butter. They have specials depending on the catch and their homemade puddings are excellent. Service is friendly and efficient. It's advisable to book as only about 4 tables. Ordered on Just Eat at 5:30 it changed to delivered which it wasnât, called the shop to enquire and was told it the delivery person was just leaving with it now. Hate when this happens really poor poor service. Havenât even tasted the food yet but will not be ordering from here again.

This chippy is brilliant the chips are the best I've ever had and the tartare sauce is amazing. The produce is the best quality and the food is so fresh. The portions are really big. Great value for money!!

I can only comment on the pizzas from this takeaway as I have never ordered anything else. Based on the pizza I would recommend this place and would definitely go back. The toppings were plentiful and we received little pots of dips with our order which we were not expecting.

Whenever we visit Dunoon we never leave without having fish and chips from here. The fish is gorgeous, always beautifully cooked with crispy batter. Gets really busy and everything is cooked fresh so expect a wait but boy is it worth the wait.

We had a huge take out dinner. The cashew chicken was particularly tasty. As was the soup! Just a broth with green onions & mushrooms. One of the best Chinese Iâve had in Europe. And super fast delivery!

One of the best chip shops ever. Managed to finally get a table in this very small restaurant. Super staff friendly and helpful. Food was very fresh and very tasty.
