Weligama (Sinhalese: වැලිගම, Tamil: வெலிகாமம்) is a town on the south coast of Sri Lanka, located in Matara District, Southern Province, Sri Lanka, governed by an Urban Council. The name Weligama, literally means "sandy village" which refers to the area's sandy sweep bay. It is approximately 144 kilometres (89 mi) south of Colombo and is situated at an elevation of 9 metres (30 ft) above the sea level.

We had three dinners here as we enjoyed the food so much. The sesame tuna was a dream, followed by a brownie topped with vanilla ice cream. Definitely recommend!

Lahiru gave me the last spot in the hostel after I texted The Surfer's contact number at midnight, two days before turning up - and i'm glad i got that spot! Family like atmosphere with energetic and experienced surf instructors + great breakfast spread after a morning's surf. The hostel attracts only the most interesting people; new friendships and memories will stay with me for a lifetime.Don't hesitate to book!

My Italian friend and I were craving some good Italian food. And they gave us flat fanta, the waitor then complained about how we being fussy. We relaxed in Sri Lanka (Weligama) in April 2019. Almost every day we visited this restaurant in surfs up. Sometimes there was a long wait but there was always good food :)))) great food and not overpriced. Liked more than many around. Thanks guys! we will come againThank you very much for the comment. Among all places I've visited in Weligama and surrounding area Line Up Cafe offers outstanding service (attentive, friendly and homelike), delicious food (fresh seafood, deserts, juicy burgers with Idaho potatoes), refreshing homemade lemonades and fruit juices without water or ice being added. This place is spacious (has 2 floors, but second is not functioning yet, because they have opened only a month ago and still have to complete it with furniture), the first floor opened to the guests is well decorated and very fresh looking, calm and relaxing atmosphere, great music, restrooms are clean and well maintained. Owners work all day to meet guests needs, cook great food, communicate, ask for feedback to improve their work and help with advice of places to see and give contacts for cheaper rental of places to stay or scooters. In the evenings surf videos and movies being shown on the biggest screen in Weligama. They have some board games. Overall this place is nothing like you can find in Sri Lanka. Friendly and professional staff makes you feel more like home. We came here everyday during our vacation in this part of the island. Dear Ivan,Thank you for your kindest review!!!

We ordered the most simplest items on the menu, four portions of thier toast. Some pancakes and two juices. We got our two of the plates of food and the juice about a hour and a half later. After inquiring quite a few times how much longer the food would take, ( the response was: soon, soon) we got the the other two toast as well. We didnât even bother asking what happened to the pancakes because that would have taken another million years. All in all the food took way too long. The service is insanely slow. There was one waiter taking orders and serving the food. There was one person making the juice and also the cashier so even getting our bill took a good 15 minutes. The chicken and cheese toast was good though. They are really generous with the cheese.I understand your disaffection and your disappointment, thatâs true we lacked some staff but we already found a new waiter and another will come soon. Some more staff have already come in support to the kitchen as well. We feel really sorry for this unpleasant waiting. We are pleased you appreciated sandwiches.

Little third floor restaurant with flavoursome high quality food. The menu was a perfect size and not overwhelming. The food came quickly and was well presented.The drinks were made to order and super refreshing ! Service was brilliant and super friendly :) I would recommend to anyone that likes fish dishes but there are veggie options aswell ! Had a fab Valentine's evening!

The aloha is quite a nice place, but the food lacks of originality. We had the Bowl, pasta w/ pesto and a soup as starter. First came the bowl, then the pasta and the starter was last. There are a lot more places to eat better and pay less. All plates were at around 1000 rs. I guess you can enjoy that place, but if youâre used to Sri Lankan home cooked plates, itâs a bit disappointing.
