Ventspils (Latvian: [ˈvæntspils] ( listen); see other names) is a town in northwestern Latvia in the historical Courland region of Latvia, and is the sixth largest city in the country. At the beginning of 2017, Ventspils had a population of 39,286. It is situated on the Venta River and the Baltic Sea, and has an ice-free port. The city's name literally means "castle on the Venta", referring to the Livonian Order's castle built alongside the Venta River. Ventspils holds the national record for the highest temperature ever recorded in Latvia with 37.8 °C (100.0 °F) on 4 August 2014.

This place is beloved by locals. Here you could meet different parts of local society. However, they have old history and there you will find different meals from early 90s. One of good things about this place is the fact that it is open 24/7 so you are able to discover tasty food whenever you like. My favorite combination is - cheese pancakes, sausages with french fries and small pizza. This is the taste of history. If you are in Ventspils and like local food this is the right place for you!

Conveniently located next to the beach. Staff is friendly and service is quick. The childrenâs menu could have a bit more variation, but prices are very reasonable. It looks rather anonymous from the outside, but you can locate it by spotting the blue viewing tower in the background.

The last old-fashioned cafe that continue to work since the Soviet Union. It is unique in the context of Latvia. Everything is authentic - place, interior, menu, atmosphere. However, this place is beloved by locals. Moreover, the location is perfect - it is located very close to the beautiful beach. Food is really tasty and the stuff will make you feel like you are visiting your beloved grandmother. Here you will find the legendary menu - all dishes are served in old-fashion manner. Must-visit place if you are in Latvia.

Still a nice place to visit, and food is still good, but they definitely could use to add more choices to their menu.Still a great vine selection and a good service, although I would say place all together stepped down a notch compared to the last time I visited 7-8 month ago.I gave them 5* at that time, and now in all fairness canât give them more than 4*Hopefully they read review and adjust the areas they are lacking.

The restaurant didnât look open when we arrived, however once we tried the door it turned out it was open. The service was ok, the waitress was friendly and the local beer was good. It tasted a bit like Sharps Doombar. There is a lot of choice on the menu and the local favourite of rue bread soaked in garlic was delicious. The burrito I ordered was tasty and packed full of flavour. The decor is a mix of a bit of old with the table and chairs and new with the glass front. Had a great night in there with my colleagues.

We enjoyed nicely-made lattes from Illy coffee, and the young women behind the counter were pleasant. But the dessert (which resembled a muffin) was so sweet that two of us could not finish it.

Small restaurant with good atmosphere and excellent food.Its a very busy restaurant so in weekends better to make reservation to avoid disappointment .Waitresses are very friendlyIts definitely worth a visit
