We enjoyed a lovely meal here with cocktails, great service, well thought out menu and the food was excellent. Highly recommend the chicken burger and pork dish! We were so full after our mains so didnât try a dessert, they looked great though!

We sat in the sun, in front of sun-kissed sunflowers, drinking beautifully-prepared, eye-catching cocktails & sampling their sparkling wine. The Negronis were wonderful, the nibbles: unforgettable! My mouth is watering at the crisp sage & anchovy bites (the lightest, crispest tempura batter surrounding a melt-in-the-mouth sage leaf & anchovy "sandwich"). Perfect. Lovely bread & smoked butter, too.Mains were stunning: show-casing local produce, cooked with love. The crab with squid ink linguine was divine (with just the right hum of chilli & generous portions of local crab meat). The duck was delicious.I wish I could've stayed until the evening & kept on eating & drinking.Lovely staff, too.Ah thanks so much for writing such a mouth watering review! Weâre delighted you enjoyed your lunch so much. And the sage and anchovy crispy bits with a Negroni sounds like the perfect way to start to us! We hope to see you again for more treats one day. An unassuming exterior, simple but smart interior and such tasty food.Great service, very friendly and efficient.My wife had 2 specials , sardines starter and Gurnard mains- both reported to be delicious.I have goats cheese starter and cannelloni mains - very tasty indeed.We got to park right outside.Well worth the 2 miles trip out of Padstow.Man meets mountain Malbec ( wine ) also delicious. Thoroughly recommended!

This was a delight - having not been impressed with the Sandbanks restaurant, we came 250 miles to this one with low expectations, but what a difference. Warmly welcomed when we arrived, well looked after by the barman downstairs and then an excellent meal. The restaurant is unpretentious and accessible (ie I didnât feel out of place in my casual clothes!) and ALL the staff were friendly and not at all snooty despite some of the reviews Iâve read....the food is simple fish dishes done well and, yes, itâs above average prices, but we felt that it was done well (and weâve complained before when service hasnât been good believe me!) This was a delight and although I wouldnât necessarily travel 4hrs to visit again, Iâm glad that we did!

Stayed at this lovely family run hotel at the end of June, for one week. Hotel is spotless. Food very tasty, quite a varied menu too. Very reasonable prices for the accomadation and the food. Would go back (if there is any availability!) Thank you Paul, Margaret and Jodie. Hi, thank you very much for choosing to stay with us. We're really pleased you enjoyed your time here. I can't believe that with over 40 years of experiencing Cornish Culnary delights that this was my first visit to this establishment having been open for over 20 years.It was an outstanding eating experience with excuisite food, fine wines, relaxed atmosphere and warm and friendly professional staff.I have to commend them for the light and fluffy fish cakes with watercress sauce served with beautifully prepared and presented fresh vegetables. No need to battle into busy Padstow; trying to get parked; the Ivy House Restaurant Is easily accesssble.Try it and fall in love with it.

Rick Stein's eponymous Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, North Cornwall sets a standard for fine cuisine, attentive knowledgeable service, and unpretentious atmosphere. Let me start with the surroundings.The restaurant is located near the harbor in the picturesque town of Padstow, hard by the Camel River estuary. The dining room is decorated with an eclectic assortment of contemporary art work; if you are interested, your server will gladly provide you with a coffee table book identifying the various artists and briefly introducing each work. The service was friendly, attentive, and unobtrusive. My wife and I enjoyed seats at the bar which provided an opportunity to engage our waiter in conversation throughout our meal; but he never intruded. Despite a full house, everyone on staff made a genuine effort to make us feel like we were the most important people in the restaurant.Believe it or not, the quality of the food exceeded the excellent service and the ambiance. The menu is creative, but not overwhelming. All major ingredients are locally sourced. Consequently, the seafood is as fresh as any I have ever encountered, including in the best restaurants along Florida's Gulf Coast. My Wife enjoyed a crab linguine starter followed by grilled Cornish sea bass. For me it was Cornish crab with kale and wasabi mayonnaise followed by baked red mullet stuffed with white crab. Decaf tea and a delicious creamy cheesecake provided an appropriate finish to an excellent dining experience.Reservations are required. Coats and ties are not.

Pleasant staff and nice menu but nothing spectacular fior the price - the local pubs serve better food !Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on TripAdvisor. I am sorry you feel the menu is overpriced, we believe that our prices are fair for the high quality, locally sourced where possible ingredients that we use.

The gold medal went to the comparatively modest starter: raw sea bass on a base of crunchy slaw with creamy kotsuobushi flavoured mayonnaise droplets. Fabulous fillet of beef, beautiful meat perfectly cooked served with charred (carrot cooked on embers) and borderlaise sauce. Pear tart for pudding got the bronze but still Olympic standard (should have had the chocolate cake!)Super Pinot noir by the glass and good choice of non alcoholic drinks. Friendly greeting, service and good send-off. Nicer ambience in the dining room than I remember from last time (though canât pin down why).

Having visited this restaurant under a previous owner many years ago we were interested to return and see how things had changed. Loved the feel of the simple layout, quality feel to decor and calming artwork by local artist Allan Caswell. We were warmly welcomed by the hostess/owner who explained the table was ours for the evening ( we booked for 715) a real bonus if you want to take your time and amke more of the experience as so many other restaurants locally in Rock/Padstow limit tables to a 2 hour slot and are quick to move you on through. An extensive winelist is available and was great that glasses were topped up slowly just at the right time. A small and delicious menu offered - 4 starters, 4 mains and fresh fish, a meat dish and vegetarian offered at each stage. We opted for Partridge and Gin soaked salmon dishes to start and Halibut main courses. Chefs appetisers of a beetroot/horseradish meringue and ham/potato mini cake was an exquisite to start. Fresh baked bread offered and GF options available. The food was perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and explained enthusiastically by the team. If you have room for dessert - the British cheeseboard is highly recommended. We are looking forward to returning next spring with friends.
