Nafplio (Greek: Ναύπλιο) is a seaport town in the Peloponnese in Greece that has expanded up the hillsides near the north end of the Argolic Gulf. The town was an important seaport held under a succession of royal houses in the Middle Ages as part of the lordship of Argos and Nauplia, held initially by the de la Roche following the Fourth Crusade before coming under the Republic of Venice and, lastly, the Ottoman Empire. The town was the capital of the First Hellenic Republic and of the Kingdom of Greece, from the start of the Greek Revolution in 1821 until 1834. Nafplio is now the capital of the regional unit of Argolis.

This was probably the best meal we had on our recent 6 week holiday in Europe. The trip included London, Paris, Rome and Athens but this little place in Nafplio beat them all. Every dish was delicious and true to traditional Greek cooking. We had:- Greek salad (of course)- Dolmades- Saganaki- Lemon chicken with potatoes The service from the waiters was pretty good. They were quick to serve us and did not rush us, they just did what they had to do and moved on to the next table. All in all a fantastic meal with a great atmosphere. We will definitely eat there again on our next visit to Nafplio.

Food was bad and overpriced. I ordered a waffle with chocolate which was not fresh. Ny fellow customers ordered the breakfast which was tiny, burnt slices of bread. very sad.. The waiters were not very friendly either. Please avoid it

We love this Italian restaurant - weâve been there twice during our stay in Nafplion. Lovely outdoor seating area, helpful and friendly staff and delicious food. The rocket and Parmesan salad is fabulous and huge! The pizzas are excellent - great crust and generous toppings. Last night I had one of my favorite dishes - Cacio e pepe. Delicious! I want to go back and try the risotto and the ravioli! Excellent choice for families, couples, meat eaters and vegetarians. I know weâre in Greece but weâve had a lot of Greek food so are enjoying a little variety! We were just in Sicily and this is honestly better than food we had there.

Delicious Greek food served with a twist. We had a vegetable millefeuille with layers of grilled talagni cheese, meatballs with a yoghurt sauce and mushrooms stuffed with vegetables, feta and finely diced pieces of sausage. Itâs off the beaten track but well worth the stroll and amazing value for money. Have 4 nights here in Nafplio and will definitely go back.

We were a group of 4 and visited the cafe-bar for a drink. The drinks that were served had a bad taste like pure alcohol. We did not even drink them, we payed and visited another bar.I would not visit this bar again in my future visits in Nafplio.Dear Giannis,Thanks for taking the time to leave your review.After speaking with the waiter and the barman who served you, we have been able to find out what happened, which is slightly different to your review.We understand that you were served four cocktails - of which three were perfectly fine and your three other friends/colleagues drank their cocktails - which you did not mention in your review. With regard to your Mojito cocktail the waiter used another special type of rum which, clearly, was not to your liking.If you ever come back to Nafplion, we hope that you will give us the opportunity to try again and to offer you one of our delicious cocktails that are so popular with our customers.Matina Koskina - Owner

Stylish cafe with attractive interior and friendly personnel. Vintage furniture and soft colours create peaceful atmosphere. Close to bus station that's why we were waiting for a bus here but the station. Coffee is rather good but excellent. Free small cake enjoy you.

After a good experience two years ago, we visited Il Porto again. We (3 adults) ordered a starter and a main course. The starters were ok, but the main course came immediately after without our asking. The Restaurant was almost empty, so no need for this rush. The two ladies had Tagliatelle that was overcooked. The Calzone was big but not very tasty. Nobody of the staff asked what we thought about the food or the service.

Pidalio Mezedopoleio was a recommendation by the owner of our rental apartment. The food was decent enough - my mixed grill was tasty and my partners octopus with aubergine was an interesting combination. Service was friendly and I'd certainly eat here again.
