Was an outstanding experience. We had the five course meal with wine pairings. We ordered slightly different courses. But our favorite was one was a play on creamed spinach served in an egg. The beef carpaccio was not thin sliced and there was too much beef. The wine pairings were perfect and they were generous with the pours. We also really enjoyed the cheese course with the tawny port.Thank you so much for your outstanding review! We are delighted that you had an enjoyable evening at our restaurant. We were staying in The Hotel, were they recommend us several restaurants in the city. On trip advisor we saw the great references about Bam Bou, so we went to this restaurant under The Hotel. This a school for cooking and we went for a breakfast that had a massive display of all sorts of good foods, expertly presented. It's not always easy to find a place to eat when you are hungry. It's best to be hungry at lunchtime (noon-2pm) when the restaurants offer their daily menu at a reasonable price. The service was friendly. The sun was shining. People were happy.

Extraordinarily good food.Other than what is on the chalkboard inside the restaurant, there is no menu or wine list. The four course fixed price menu is what they are serving that day. Our first course was a delectable mixture of seared tuna, zucchini, capers, olives, lettuce, radicchio and who knows what else. The second course was a lemon, burrata ravioli in a butter sauce that was delicate and delicious. Third came a steak and potatoes with small pieces of rosemary, chives, eggplant, roasted peppers, kohlrabi and more. The dish was outstanding. For dessert we were served a delightful passion fruit mousse accompanied by passion fruit. By in large, the offered wines were Italian and reasonably priced. The four course menu was CHF 75 per person. We sat outdoors on the patio, but there is indoor seating as well. Service was very good.

The restaurant is located above the casino and it is decorated with classic grandeur with high ceilings and chandeliers. We went without reservations and were the first guests for dinner. We were later told by the staff there that the building used to be a library. The menu was very interesting and the wines had good choices. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 mains and a bottle of French wine. The food is well plated and taste really fresh, delicious and definitely memorable (see the pictures). You have the feel that the chef takes pride in his creations. We had just finished visiting the Jesuitenkirche on the left bank of the Reuss River and decided to take a small break and order some desert at the Opus Restaurant which is located right next to the church with a grand view of the Reuss River and Old Town Lucerne. We sat down and it took awhile before we were served. We ordered a couple deserts which were brought out on a timely manner; the deserts were very delicious but not cheap. Probably paying for the location and view! They are a full service restaurants so we cannot vouch for how the dinners are but the deserts are tasty but expensive. The service overall from our experience was no more than average. And the view is lovely - it probably would be a great setting for an early evening dinner sitting outside viewing Old Town Lucerne.
