Cheap simple menu, mostly burgers and salads.Bar has a sweaty stench, lots of locals, dart games, very plain overall.

Went there with friends and family... It was recommended to us by some friends. We actually planned to go there as my son who is a student at DIT in Deggendorf liked it very much himself.(his German is still not up to the notch as he studies in English)We had dinner and it was fun selecting our dishes as we had to use google pictures and translation to understand the menu, but that was really fun.The landlady also helped us and we had very delicious dishes which we couldn't finish so big the portions were.We had beer which was one of the best i have ever tried in my life!! You are in Germany!!! For sure I will come back to this restaurant in my next visit to Deggendorf. Will try to add some pictures as tripadvisr app does not allow to see all the pictures on my iphone.!

Visited the restaurant with a few friends, early afternoon, who told us they have really nice tapas. Only to find out tapas is available only after 6. The place itself looks nice and modern, and has many seating options for small and larger groups equally. We picked other choices from the menu, which didn't provide too many options unfortunately. The steak tartare was really nice, and probably the best pick, even though the small option was really a bit too small. We also had a salmon and mushroom gnocchi, but these were just average. The staff was trying their best, but at times felt like they can't keep up (had to ask for extra coffee 3 times). If we visit Deggendorf again, might come back to try the tapas specifically, but other wise there are probably other places with more value for money.

I found this place by chance. It was my first night ever in Germany; a business trip brought me to Deggendorf for a much too short stay. The Stadtplatz seemed like a good place to start, and I chose the Goldener Engel because it looked good Not speaking German myself, my waitress was wonderful by speaking English as well as she could (she knew enough and pantomimed the rest!), and then found a menu for me translated into English. She was able to recommend traditional fare I'd like and special beer. Her help was perfect.I thoroughly enjoyed everything. Food was hot, beautifully presented, plentiful and delicious. (I had a venison platter.) The special "cloudy" Arcobrau was so good I had to have another. A gentleman who had lingered at a table nearby with his friends came over and, in broken English, introduced himself and welcomed me to Deggendorf.I left after I, too, had lingered to soak in the ambiance. I left satisfied, full, happy and glad to have made unexpectedly made new friends. I may never have a chance to return to this part of the world, but I hope I do. I promise to enjoy another meal at the Goldener Engel if I can and hope this review might encourage someone else to give it a try.

If you like pizza Laurin should be your go to place if you are in Deggendorf. Honestly don't understand why this restaurant hasn't got higher ratings. The pizzas are HUGE, not expensive and are very tasty. So good that it actually transported us to Italy for a bit. What I liked was that when you can't finish your pizza (almost no one can) you can take the leftovers with you so nothing goes to waste. We took the leftover pizza with us to Hungary, warmed it up in the oven and it was still very good! The beers we ordered to go with our pizza's were great too. Waiters were very nice and spoke good English. We sat outside on their lovely terrace which has nice views of the park and the Danube. If we were ever to visit Deggendorf again we would make sure to return.

We had an enjoyable and leisurely meal of Bavarian food in the outdoor courtyard area at the back. There are a variety of seating options inside, at the front and in the courtyard. The food was excellent, with an extensive menu (menus are avalable in English), an excellent wine list of German wines and, of course, beer.

Mamamia da Max ist nicht nur in Deggendorf ein Geheimtipp! Lecker, lustig und typisch italienisch ist Mamamia da Max immer einen "Isse Lecca" voraus.
A lovely Italian restaurant situated about 5-6 minutes walk from the main square. Decent menu, friendly service and a reasonable wine list. We have starters and mains and both were good quality. Prices were about on par with other similar restaurants we looked at during our visit. After a long trip MamaMia hit the spot!Thankyou

Its like going back in time when you visit Weinbeisl. It has a number of different areas in which to seat and a great courtyard which is covered with a vine overhead. As you would expect, a good wine list of excellent wines alongside a reasonable food menu. An excellent place for a few glasses of wine after dinner, but it is closed on a Monday.

This was our second visit to this restaurant at the historic town square in Deggendorf. In summer there is a large terrace at the town square and on a Saturday the farmer's market was just opposite complete with a cultural performance. Service is polite, fast and professional. We had the Duett of Donauwaller & Salmon and the Gnocchi with Mushrooms and parmesan. The portions were generous and the food was very tasty. Highly recommended restaurant in Deggendorf for all occasions.

I was looking for a traditional German biergarten experience, and came across this lovely little place. A twist on the traditional biergarten with good, reasonably prices Greek cuisine made Kouros a great experience. The outdoor seating area is lovely, and the staff are friendly. I would definitely recommend eating here!
