Reviews on European food in Cheb, Bohemia, Czech Republic. Cheb (Czech pronunciation: [ˈxɛp]; German: Eger) is a town in the Karlovy Vary Region of the Czech Republic, with about 33,000 inhabitants. It is situated on the river Ohře (also called Eger in German), at the foot of one of the spurs of the Smrčiny and near the border with Germany. Prior to 1945, which saw the expulsion of the German speaking population, the town was the centre of the German-speaking region known as Egerland, and was part of the Northern Austro-Bavarian dialect area.
Things to do in Cheb
Frisch zubereitete Speisen. Seit langem das beste Cordon bleu. Superfrisch zubereitet. Kuchen selbstgemacht , sah zum Anbeissem aus. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist nicht zu toppen. Portion sehr gross. Ambiente gemütlich. Bedienung professionell freundlich. Wir fühlten uns gut aufgehoben. Danke, gerne mal wieder.
Sundays visit with lunch, but really Big disappointment... We will také 2x pizza, 2x beer and one soup of the weekend ( weekend OFFER) - spinach soup.. Pizzas - can say âmaybeâ, but the soup?! It see something like dirty hot green water, with oil... really terrible... No spinach, no taste...After this soup, can we no more go on with the pizza, so for all the people, who can visit this place - oné recommendation : NO SOUP, Pizza only!! Pricing not cheap ( 400 CZK for 2 pizzas, soup, and 2 beers), but place very nice..

Absolut in Ordnung!

Reading other reviews I believe that the classical Czech food is good here. So, I dropped in for a quick refreshment - the service was quite fast. Unfortunately, what I chose was the vegetable salad with chicken pieces. There was grated Edam cheese in the salad! And everything so wet from the at least 2dl water in the bowl. Maybe a Czech twist of the dish which you should stay clear of. The atmosphere was quite hectic which is understandable for the prime location in high season. They do not accept cards, only cash.

We had a meal here after a mornings cycling. We both had chicken dishes which were very tasty- the menu is extensive and includes steaks, goulash and fish. We had a beer each and an apple desert with cream and ice cream (huge) and the bill was 500 kc. Really friendly staff

It is good to stop there for a glass of water, but as restaurant for dinner it is not the best place. Almost every my visit I had troubles with the waters - they don't speak English and the restaurant closes at 10 PM.

I havenât found so many places outside Prague that would offer local, authentic well presented and prepared food, but this is one of them. We had both seasonal menu, based on a duck. Mushroom soup, trout filet as starters and ducks as main. Desserts were a nuts mousse and a chocolate fondant. I must truly admit that everything was just flawless from start to end. Friendly and attentive service, Good Moravien and Italian wine, and the food just above delicious. If I lived closer I would be a regular immediately. This is how a well run restaurant looks like. Congratulations to owners and high recommendation to guests. Enjoy.
