Excellent meal on a winter night. Venison steak, salmon, and a delicious butternut squash salad. Weâre happy to see our favorite Waitaki Pinot Noir(Ostler Carolineâs ) on the list, so had to have a bottle.

The food was simply fantastic, the portions were great sizes, and the wine list was quite good. Prices were reasonable for food quality, service was excellent, room was cozy and comfortable. There was soooooo much to enjoy, and nothing at all concerning. Small-town fine dining done right. I had the licorice pudding/cake for dessert. Wow. The chocolate/orange fondant was remarkable too. You can't go wrong...

Have had the chch tram restaurant on my 'bucket list' for quite a while. Finally I was able to try this out the other night. It was truly a lovely evening with wonderful food along with a joyous buzz throughout the tram from other diners. It almost felt like eating on a mini Orient Express! Not that I have been privileged to have dined on that, but that's how I would imagine it to be. Staff were warm and welcoming as well as making sure that everyone's dining experience was an absolute pleasure. This is not only great for tourists, but definitely a worthwhile experience for locals.

Unfortunately we visited this winery when restaurant was closed, however I can assure you the menu looked amazing with lots of local produce. The winery and surrounds were stunning. The wine itself was well priced and complex. Special thanks to the staff who gave âgenerousâ tastings so we could wander the grounds with a beautiful red wine.

Very impressed with the food selection, very creative and can tell the chef is passionate about flavour and presentation.I had the balsamic beef cheek, it was cooked to perfection and even the greens were surprisingly flavourful. My husband had a bacon buttie, the bacon was crispy but was not greasy and the chutney inside was perfectly matched. We will definitely be back and try their dinner and dessert menu!!Thanks heaps for the fantastic review, appreciated.Will pass on your kind comments to the kitchen crew. Stayed at Mt Hutt lodge for a week of skiing and adventuring with my youngest son. Arrived late the first Friday night and were warmly greeted by the 6ft leprechaun behind the bar. On such a busy night, we were seated at the âtractorâ and ordered Moroccan Lamb pizzas - wow, they were good! Washed down with some great draft Murphyâs Irish Stout, I was already in love with this place.Thanks to owners and hosts Gary and Karen Manning for making our visits so enjoyable and memorable.

Family meal last night in remembrance of our lost son so not a celebration but more a remembrance. Service friendly and very helpful. Ambiance very good. Buzzy for an early Thursday night.Bruschetta was very good and kids well looked after. Major downside was the seafood risottos. Both were disappointing as a large amount of stock had not been absorbed as it should be. Very disappointing. Everything was swimming in stock. In comparison the risotto at No. 4 restaurant, just round the corner, is always excellent and perfection. Try it. No relationship with No. 4.

I won't have time to write a proper review because I am still here, facing the 6th course on a 6-course shared lunch.But I can say these:Location - 5 stars (inner city)Service - 5 stars (skilled waiter & open cooking)Atmosphere - 3 stars (audio ok, but visuals... opposite a car parking)Food - 5 starsDrinks - 4.5 starsFacilities - 5 starsPrice - 6 stars (I am not paying for this)Just book 1st. They do 4, 6 or 8 courses. We got the medium option and it does take over two hours. Two hours you won't regret.

We were recommended to this restaurant by the manager at our accomodation and were not disappointed. The owner was delightful and had really good wines (all of which you buy by the glass). You choose the type of dumpling etc that you want and it comes with an eye catching and tasty array of salads. The beef empanadas were superb and the perogi were also very good. What a great formula for tasty food at a reasonable price.
