I invited my grandmother for her birthday to enjoy an extended lunch in a nice atmosphere. We sat outside, the atmosphere was nice, the view and the newly built house (i like the clean architectue) were great.FOOD was disappointing. I chose the carpaccio and the daily special which was the fish platter recommended by the waiter. The carpaccio was average with too much rucola for my taste. The fish was disappointing: while the portion was almost too big, the quality and taste were not convincing at all. A smaller fresh fish from the grill would have been nicer than the two cheap supermarket fish filets that have been prepared in a pan with too much butter.Another point that tells a lot about the chef is that you find Schnitzel "Wiener Art" made of pork but not the real "Wiener Schnitzel" from a calf. Why?!SERVICE was not exactly great. The young waiter was just too proud of himself and the place. He asked "war sicher super, oder?" which is "sure this was amazing, wasnt it?" when he took away the plates of the main course. For that reason we even skipped dessert and went for an ice cream in Bregenz. As much as I disliked the food and the service - I will give it another try for some casual Käsespätzle and a beer as this seems to be their culinary limits.

We ate here on our last night staying on the campsite on whose grounds this restaurant sits. However it is entirely independent. As with other reviews this was also one of our nicest meals on our German holiday. This restaurant specialises in BBQ with a number of sophisticated smokers and types of BBQs. They also have a full menu of other items including burgers steaks and Pasta . We had a soup of the day a lovely creamy horseradish soup, I had the ribs with a southern US style whiskey sauce and my wife the schnitzel. Service was great again the best on our trip with an attentive waitress for whom nothing was too much trouble, a side of slaw for my ribs not on the menu. Good local range of beers and wine.Hello Drew, thanks a lot for your kind reward! We are glad to hear that you're enjoying the time in our restaurant! You're ever welcome back! Very best regards from the lake of constance, Jasmin Schwabe-Winter & Klaus Winter

This restaurant definitely deserves its place in the Michelin guide. The decor is contemporary yet warm and there is a nice terrace in the back that is shielded from the sun by vines. The staff is very professional (but not snobby), efficient and attentive. The food is delicious! Regional dishes prepared with a skilled hand. Nice presentation, without the food just being piled on the plates. Simply, wonderful cuisine.

We were hungry and tired after a visit to Kunsthalle and this restaurant was practically opposite. Even though we were not necessarily craving Greek food, the menu seemed very varied and so we did not look further. Shortly after we had sat down, the proprietor or senior boss came to our table and greeted us with a handshake. Drinks and food arrived very quickly and my lamb was very nice, if suspiciously hot (microwave?). The deliberate burn-marks on the chicken filet in my Mum's salad also looked a tad "over-engineered", but she was pretty happy with it even though she would have preferred a vinaigrette dressing rather than a yoghurt/mayo one. All in all, probably not the most sophisticated culinary experience to be had in Bregenz, but good enough and at very decent prices. Would revisit when in town again.

We sat outside at this restaurant on its ample covered terrace; there were pleasant views over the lake and all in all it was a very pleasant experience. The service however was slow and not desperately friendly; but this was balanced by a great soup, some excellent vegetarian pasta and a delicious dessert.I’d certainly come again, but my top tip would be “Don’t be in a rush”

This restaurant with traditional autrian cuisine menu and cosy interior offers good value for money combined with polite and friendly staff. Food is tasty & portions decent, yet it is nothing super special that would take your breath away. Good place for a quick lunch, no so much for a romantic dinner...

The service had been completely slow. There was nothing goin on and then we still waited another 40 minutes for our food. We had the vegetarian dish and it didnt really taste so good so my girl left half and i told the service that we didnt like it. Risotto had a taste of nothing. Would not recommend this restaurant if you are in Bregenz. Hardcore pricy as well.Dear Philipp, first of all we want to thank you for the feedback even it is not that good. we care about every rating therefore we would appreciate to get more information about your stay and your food. Wich vegetarian dish did you order and could you please inform us on which day during what time you attended the restaurant? This will helps us to get more information about the waiter who served you and why the management didn't know anything of that grievance before your post. We know this will not compensate your unsatisfied stay in the Freischwimmer therefore we will ask you to get in contact with us so we are able to invite you once more to this nice place to fulfill your expectations!Your Freischwimmer Team

I've been there many times already and chef Harald Fink's creations never disappoint. On warm days the terrace, facing away from the street, is a great place to relax and indulge in the food and drinks on offer. The business lunch changes frequently and is an excellent deal, probably the best you'd get for that price in town.
