Top 10 Day Trips from in New York City, New York (NY)

August 10, 2021 Roger Rusk

Conquering New York in one visit is impossible. Instead, hit the must-sees – the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art – and then explore off the beaten path with visits to The Cloisters or one of the city’s libraries. Indulge in the bohemian shops of the West Village or the fine dining of the Upper West Side. The bustling marketplace inside of Grand Central Station gives you a literal taste of the best the city has to offer.

Excellent tour for those looking to explore the Hamptons and LI wineries. Ronald was informative, patient, more than accommodating and most important knowledgeable. Ron was also very sensitive to our concerns regarding Covid and it was obvious that his precautions were above standard. Highly recommend this tour.

From Central Park to Brooklyn Bridge to Ground Zero, we'll see it all! This is not a tour for beginner cyclists. This a tour for confident, urban cyclists. We'll cover around 25 miles (40 km) over 6 hours. The pace will be brisk but not back-breaking or exhausting. We'll stick to designated bike lanes, but please understand, we cannot do this exclusively. This a tour for the adventurous of spirit. You'll see so many of NYC's most iconic spots and as they were intended to be seen: from the street. We'll take lots of breaks where you can get off the bikes, walk around and I will find you lots of photo ops to make you Instagram feed POP! I'll keep you safe and you'll never risk wasting time getting lost. I'll also keep you entertained and provide history, context and local color. By the end of the day, you'll feel the burn, but be ready to feast in one of NYC's great restaurants—guilt free, you earned it!

After taking the Brooklyn Bridge tour, my friend and I immediately scheduled this tour. There is no better way to get around Central Park than by bike, and Scott did a great job of telling us both the historical and pop culture significance of different spots. We had plenty of opportunities to stop, take pictures, and walk around certain areas like the Bow Bridge, Shakespeare Garden, and Strawberry Fields, John Lennon Memorial. I am already planning my next trip back to NYC and will be booking again!!

This is truly the best way to see the most of New York City in a day or weekend trip. We literally saw and learned so much I can't even add one picture of each things we saw because I can only post 10. Sheldon was an amazing guide and has an abundance of New York knowledge and historical facts. He has a great personality and made it fun and interesting for my whole family (including my mother, teenage son, and 6 year old daughter). He also made it a point to always make sure we knew where we were so when we went back into the city by our selves we knew how to get where we needed to. Sheldon honestly loves New York and after he shows you around you will too.

This tour is unique because it is hosted by a college professor of the City University of New York who is also a fully licensed tour guide. He brings over 10 years of teaching experience as a college professor and 5 years of experience as a tour guide. You will learn about the history and culture of New York City and you will also learn "secrets" that you might not know or would not be able to find out on your own! The tour guide has dozens of 5 star reviews on AirBnb and is a native New Yorker. This tour is also unique because we cover a lot of ground. Everything about this tour was amazing! This review is a little old (pre-COVID), but I came across the card and knew I needed to leave a review for this company. Our guide was enthusiastic and excited about taking us around town. There was plenty of time at each stop with clear instructions on where to meet etc. He even directed us how to get on the Subway back to New Jersey. So very kind and when I am in NY, I will definitely tour with this company again.
