Very Eco friendly

Situated directly on the beach and next to the archeological preserve this is a great escape. Very few amenities included; exterior shower, no AC, not even a hair dryer. This views are beautiful. My bungalow was very tight for one with an average and one small piece of luggage.

Muy caro para lo que es...

Reviewed By JesusP1828

It is a very nice place with luxury cabins; If you want a field or forest experience, something very natural, it is very expensive, in the surroundings there are cabins with a pool (here there is not) at less than half the price, if you want to justify the price for comfort, it is not worth it either. Cabins in the middle of a ranch with private bathroom, light and hot water, in addition to the bathroom it's a toilet disguised as a latrine (do your needs and you have to throw sawdust and always smells ugly). There is no WiFi, only in the reception palapa which turn off at 10 o'clock at night, so if you come to work a bit at night after walking, forget it, the place is sold as a place of detoxification and rest so which you can not put or drink alcoholic beverages, they also warn you to make as little noise as possible, there are massage services also very expensive. For an experience in nature for a fraction of the price there are many better options in the surrounding area. The breakfast included is basically fruit with coffee and tea nothing else. The place It's like those hipster restaurants where they say that everything is organic and they sell it dearly on that pretext, and in the end it tastes the same or worse than in any other place. The experience is a scam ...

Owner Accused me of Staining the Mattress and Tried to Charge Me for Damages Already Present

Reviewed By sarahhA6050SU

I'm sad to say that my experience at Casitas El Salistral was very poor. We booked here for a month-long stay and found that the service was very bad and the amenities were dirty. We frequently had to ask multiple times for drinkable water, towels, and for our room to be cleaned. On one came to clean my room in the final two weeks of my stay. I even cleaned the pool once myself because there were so many dead bugs and frogs in the pool. I frequently found mouse feces on my bed! The owners just didn't seem to care about keeping the property clean. At the end of my stay, the owners accused my dog of peeing on the mattress and said that I flipped it over to hide the stains. My dog is house-trained and did not pee on the mattress. Furthermore, the mattress is huge and heavy. I couldn't have flipped it even if I wanted to! Maybe the people before me did this, but I did not, and they tried to charge me $70 American for damage I did not do. They sent pictures of stains that was clearly already there and prevented me from re-entering the property to take my own photos. After this negative experience, I do not trust the owners of this hotel. Not only did they not do the very basics to keep the amenities clean, but they also tried to blame me and charge me for damage I did not commit. I would think twice before staying here. The area is very pretty and there are lots of other great places to stay.

El Jardin Yelapa

El Jardin consist of 4 casas and a big oceanfront communal space that includes, kitchen, living and dining room. Our common area, kitchen, living & dining room, is about 1600 square feet. Our kitchen is also fully equipped and for guests to use. We have filtered ice and we also have water to drink directly from the sink or if preferred from big 5 gallons. All casas are ‘’Palapa’’ except casa Hibiscus witch has a normal roof. All are open air with mosquito nets.

Thank For Our Trip to Paradise!

Reviewed By Kimberly E

Yelapa is undoubtedly paradise. As if an island, the tiny friendly community seems to exist in a place without time or outside stresses. We arrived at El Jardin after easily navigating a cab then water taxi, as per the clear instructions we received beforehand. The casas are straight out of a kid's dream of the perfect treehouse. Just the right balance of open air ocean views and privacy, with tons of artful design details, cubbies and comforts. Coming from the American southwest, I was kinda concerned about the lack of sealed walls, but the fauna of Yelapa is just as chill as the village. Very few mosquitos or flies, just hummingbirds, butterflies, geckos and the occasional iguana flitting in to say hola. We enjoyed the common area and local produce so much, we ended up staying on and cooking with the ocean view most nights. The local eggs and fruit are delicious. We also checked out Los Abuelos and Café Bahia for a few fantastic meals, and Micheladas de Vicky for some margaritas. Going for a boat ride to a secluded beach further west with ceviche made by the skipper onboard, hikes to the waterfalls and just blissing out watching dolphins, rays and sardines in the water and little coati throwing mangos in the trees. Many many thanks to Seb and Sue for making it such a smooth and memorable trip. I'm jealous of you both for the time y'all get to spend there! I would recommend El Jardin to anyone who would enjoy and respect this little slice of heaven.

Rancho San Roman

Rancho San Roman is a farm that started in 1907 originally for raising cattle and from 2011 opens its doors as a hotel, adapting it to have 3 rooms within the Casona (Main Building of the Hacienda) and 5 cabins. It has a dining area where the menu changes every day and you can taste local and traditional food. The Ranch is located on the banks of the Palizada River where you can observe different species of birds as well as the monkey saraguato which have made the ranch home. We also have horseback riding and boat tours

amazing birds, wonderful food and warm hospitality.

Rosy and Raul are such wonderful hosts. They made us feel like family! There is a lovely palatza overlooking the river, opportunties for boat rides, walking and horseback riding.
