We ate here for breakfast one morning during our stay in Tamarindo and we were very happy that we came here! I ordered traditional Costa Rican food and it was amazing!! Our kids loved it as well. Definitely check them out!

My expectations werenât high for this place even we rolled in playa grande, but kikes came highly recommended by our air bnb host so we hit it for dinner. Would go back if I found myself in PG again! Looks like any night life that gets going in grande is here.

The food is fantastic! Had the gallo pinto, the typical Costa Rican meal and it was perfect! The homemade bread is fantastic, daughter asked if we could buy a whole loaf. The avocado toast, best we have ever had. And the lemonade, wow!!! Everything was wonderful and we are so glad we found this place! I went through the (easy) hassle of joining TripAdvisor just to rave about this restaurant. We have been in Tamarindo for a week, eating everywhere, and gave El Pelicano a try because (a) it just looked nice, and (b) well, it looked nice, haha! The three of us were very glad we did. My son (15 yrs old) got adventurous and tried Seabass for the first time and loved it. Two of us split a steak and chicken dish and both were delicious!!! Oh, we started with a sushi appetizer that was great too. The sauces were wonderful for the entres.Out waiter was Kevin, who was incredibly nice and attentive. We have found almost everyone in Costa Rica is really enjoyable, and obviously that was the case at El Pelicano. Ironically, we walked by the restaurant a couple days before and told the host, Santos, that we would be back in two days and it was pretty funny that he remembered us when we walked by tonight. Really nice guy too! The restaurant is a little pricier than others in town, but we all thought it was well worth it!!!! I think we'll go back on Sunday before we leave :)

Weâve been to Tamarindo many times but just discovered this gem of a cafe (itâs on the second floor of a building set back a bit from Calle Central). A variety of tasty breakfasts and lunches (the homemade banana bread French toast is to die for), refreshing smoothies, and a cheery decor with indoor and shaded outdoor seating make it a lovely spot for breakfast/lunch. The barrista is superb and makes the most delicious almond milk cappuccinos Iâve ever had (soooo much better than Starbucks). I love this place!!

We recently dine at Pangas on the second night of our vacation. One of our travelers was having a bday and they brought him a nice dessert. The table and view were breath-taking. The wait staff was very attentive and made great suggestions. So glad we went and would go back 1000 more times.

There is so much to say but I will never be able to find enough words to convey how much we LOVED Rip Jack Inn and their restaurant. We ate 85% of our meals here (the other 15% was when we were exploring) and never once had a bad meal. We were able to try almost every dinner option. My favorite was the Mahi Mahi and my boyfriends favorite was the Hot Garlic Shrimp. Everything is SO fresh. So tasty. And the combinations are incredible. It not only has the best food we experienced during our trip but it also has the best waiters. We became very close with Ermesto and Manrique...so much that we were greeted by our first names after the second day of being there. And Ermesto shared his NCAA bracket with us, all chuckling about our choices. We literally wanted to bring Ermesto back to the states with us. He's the best. They both knew what we wanted to drink before we even ordered. It became our home for the week and they all made us feel like family. It will be VERY hard to travel to Costa Rica again and not stay at Rip Jack. We feel like we would never have as good of an experience as we had there. Hats off to all the cooks/bartenders and servers. You were all amazing. But Ermesto and Manrique were definitely very special to us. Eat here. Stay here. Love it here, like we did.Yeah! We will pass this on to Ernesto, Manrique and the rest of the team. Making our guests feel like family is what we're all about!Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience and we are thrilled you loved the food as much as we do!
