Reviewed By riyadh04Bed sheets were full of hair. The entire floor was filthy with hair. Couches were stained. Stains on my pillows. And it’s basically a shebeen. People screaming outside your room at 1 am. It’s horrible. Hated it.

Coming home from long day of work I found it peaceful and relaxing. Very close to restaurants and shops and if I needed any assistance the response was immediate.Thank you again!

Mabel, what a fantastic lady who ensured my virtual check in was stress free especially having arrived after hours from Australia. Mabel was very friendly and made sure i felt safe during my checking in. Security guard who helped me carry my bags unfortunately i can't remember his name was also super nice. I will definitely stay here next time. Apartment very clean its home away from home.

This is akin to a concetration camp where even a visitor is not allowed to have a drink without security harrasing you in your appartment. This place is best avoided at all costs!

Added bonus of having a coffee shop on site by the pool serving a good selection of meals. Waze and Google Maps did battle to find it as some of the roads had been blocked off but got there eventually.

Reviewed By spaceseti111We stayed here for 24 hrs as part of a 30 day let then our own home became available so we had to check out. The staff here were really sympathetic and would have only charged us a few days in the end we had to pay a penalty of a week plus a day. The regular penalty for early exit is 100% !! Thank the management for being flexible but read the conditions as the penalty for early release is not fair at all. I would urge the group to review. For this I would give a rating 1 The apartment two bed clean and spacious with washer but no dishwasher, staff here brilliant. The surroundings are the only thing that let it down, the feeling of not being safe. No pool, gym but shops near - never walk. Thanks team and as mentioned anyone staying read the small print.

Horrible service
Reviewed By claudiasing1First day we stayed without electricity for a couple of hours, at night, right after our arrival. No torches were available and no Wi-Fi ofc. Didn’t receive any excuses. Second day we came back at night and found out our rooms hadn’t been done (one at all, second left incomplete). We were offered to move to the next one and we accepted. They then offered us one complimentary night and probably know we wouldn’t have accepted as we were tourists and people usually book their whole stay prior to arrival. Didn’t reply in a timely manner to WhatsApp messages that they started to send. No buffet breakfast, no eating options at all after 7 pm and no fruit after 4. They provided meal vouchers and couldn’t be split throughout the day. Slow service Would never go back again

The Nicol Hotel and Apartments is set in the leafy suburb of Bedfordview. The complex features an outdoor pool, fitness center, and restaurant. Free private parking is available on site. The modern units come with tiled floors and feature a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a desk, and a private bathroom. A balcony is available in some of the units. The Nicol has a restaurant and coffee shop and breakfast options include continental, English and halal. The aparthotel offers free WiFi access in public areas and there is 24-hour security. Eastgate Mall is within 5 minutes' drive and O.R. Tambo International Airport is 9.3 mi away. Couples in particular like the location – they rated it highly for a two-person trip.

On my first morning there loadshedding happened and I went to the restaurant to get online as I was there to work and had urgent meetings. I ordered a (paid) breakfast and asked the reception for the wifi password. The moment I said that I was not a hotel room guest, it was as if the room went cold. She absolutely refused to give me the wifi password. I appealed to the manager, who told me this facility is for guests. Wasn't I a guest of the restaurant? I asked the manager could he not just help me out, I have a meeting, I'll buy breakfast, I have an urgent meeting... he told me they don't run a charity or other people's businesses. I must take it up with my host. He was so condescending that I was utterly, totally shocked and it really made me mad. Is this what the hospitality industry has come to? It escalated to the point where the manager and his receptionist yelled at me Go! Get in the lift and leave! Granted, I was not a hotel room guest, but I paid for my room at the hotel and the facilities are there for who ever stays in the hotel, and granted, I called him a bad word at the end which I'm not sorry for (he then proceeded to call me the female version of this word loudly for all his guests to hear). It was very obvious to me that there is bad blood between the hotel and the independent rooms. I went in polite, I ordered breakfast, I kindly asked for the wifi password, but the response was incredibly hostile, and no manager should let things escalate the way they did. The message was - there is no warm, kind, hospitable human here - if you pay for a hotel room we will pretend to be sure, but if you are an Airbnb guest don't expect us to even pretend.
