Top 10 Concerts & Shows in Symphony, Massachusetts (MA)

November 19, 2021 Augustus Redeker

Walk the Freedom Trail the first time you visit Boston and you'll quickly get a sense of this coastal city's revolutionary spirit and history. But make sure you also explore some of Boston's fine museums (try the Isabella Stewart Gardner, featuring masterpieces displayed in their collector's mansion) and old neighborhoods (like the North End, Boston's Little Italy). You can't claim to have experienced real Boston culture, though, until you've watched a Red Sox game from the bleachers.

The Boston Pops

Conductor Keith Lockhart leads the orchestra at Symphony Hall and on the Charles River Esplanade.

Awesome! I hadn’t seen/heard the Pops in 23 years and I was amazed. Keith and team went the extra mile with a phenomenal back up chorus. I was pleasantly surprised they made fun modifications to some Christmas classics like On the first day of Christmas. When they held up Tom Brady’s jersey for the 12th day the audience loved it. I plan to go every year now if I can. Very uplifting and beautiful. Keep up the great work!

Beethoven to open was delightfully playful and engaging. Tchaikovsky’s Fifth to close. The conductor’s passion for his craft shows through not only in him but in the way the ensemble responds to his cues. The cellos and horns sang through lifting up Tchaikovsky most beautifully. Being able to pay $25 dollars since I am under forty was a pleasant surprise. Regardless of the expense; the architecture, music, experience, and history make it worth the full price.

I went to hear Mahler and Greig and neither disappointed. The hall is beautiful and the acoustics seem to be very good. i sat in two different seats, one on the balcony and one in the stalls (for the introductory talk) and the sightlines were excellent for both. it was a great way of spending a morning. we did book several weeks in advance.

Had been wanting to experience this place for some time. When we had 90 minutes between the symphony and dinner we (out of towners getting some city time) stopped in. A tiny, gritty place with a jam session underway! Friendly, great view of the stage, great session music. Can't wait to go back!

My wife and I attended "Bad Dates" at the rep this Saturday. It was a one woman show and we enjoyed it immensely. At one point, my wife turned to me and asked if the male bashing was okay. I told it it was hilarious and spot on! We have NEVER been disappointed with the quality of offerings at the Rep. Do yourself a favor and try this theatrical gem. The parking garage behind the building is the best place to park, but I suggest having dinner on Newbury or the North End. Huntington Ave. doesn't have much to offer within walking distance of the theatre.

Attended Paris Combo here and in addition to the group being predictably fabulous, the Berklee Performance Center was a treat! Comfortable seats, great stage view even from side orchestra and most importantly, exquisite sound. I will look for future events here.
