Top 10 Concerts & Shows in Stare Mesto (Old Town), Bohemia

February 16, 2022 Timmy Ribble

The bohemian allure and fairytale features of Prague make it a perfect destination for beach-weary vacationers who want to immerse themselves in culture. You could devote an entire day to exploring Prazsky hrad (Prague Castle), then refueling over a hearty dinner at a classic Czech tavern. Spend some time wandering the Old Town Square before heading over to gape at The Old Town Hall and Astronomical Clock. Prague’s best bars are found in cellars, where historic pubs set the scene for a night of traditional tippling.

Prague Illusion

Prague Illusion is a highly interactive show performed in an intimate lounge setting. Jonathan, who won Illusionist of the year, will predict numbers, words and people you are thinking of, and can even tell you the time you woke up that morning! Other highlights include hypnotising an audience member and levitating them, walking on glass, and the infamous bullet catch.

I didn't know what to expect (last time I'd seen an illusion show I was a little girl) but I was riveted to the scene the whole time. The illusionist has a lot of interaction with the audience but also use storytelling to make the tricks more compelling. I was holding my breath for quite a few of the numbers (the nail one... brrr !) but the hypnosis and levitation was the one that amazed me the most. The venue, with its blue lights and cool magical themed cocktails, has the perfect mysterious atmosphere for this kind of show.

Better could be impossible! It’s was a great beginning on a jazz concert. With good atmosphere, mostly tourists. You can dinner while assisting the concert or you can only have some drinks and snacks (as you wish). The band of last night was top - Soul Sisters- with their Stevie musics were wonderful. All of them were impressive. The improvised a lot - pure jazz a great and hot atmosphere. Thanks for the great night

Incredible theatre !! Totally going back in time... This magnificent theatre building from 1783 was built in the classical style and is still preserved in nearly original condition. The theatre’s history is inseparable from the musical talent of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – in particular with the world premiere of his opera Don Giovanni, which is still included in the repertoire. The Estates Theatre is part of the National Theatre, and is the scene for drama, opera and ballet. You will LOVE IT !!

We saw Turandot here and it was totally over-the-top, as was the stunning interior of the theater. Tickets were very affordable, the audience was well-dressed. A special night and memory.

Jazz Republic

The music club Jazz Republic has held concerts since 1997 pretty much without a break. Aside from providing a space for predominantly Czech musicians, the club management has also introduced the Prague audience to foreign artists representing multiple genres. A number of remembrances of these unforgettable concerts, signed posters and photographs decorate the club and form its unique atmosphere. It is mainly the concert dramaturgy, that determines the character of the Jazz Republic and is unique in Europe and probably even the whole world. We cooperate with approximately 30 top Czech jazz musicians, that as residential artists compose ad-hoc music formations performed at the Jazz Republic. Each concert is therefore special, because it will never repeat itself with the specific constitution and repertoire. This is our tribute to jazz music and its basic constructive process, musical improvisations.

Amazing place to come before 9. You have different jazz groups playing every night. They are great. We bought nachos and a €12 bottle of wine. It was so nice that the next day we went there again.
