Church of the Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary and Franciscan Monastery

This church is a part of Franciscan monastery. It was built between 1712 and 1721 in baroque style. It has a valuable illusionist fresque representing the Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary painted by Slovenian Franjo Jelovšek in 1752.

This church is one of the oldest and most important preserved medieval buildings in the whole region. It is known for a beautiful fresco paintings, old gothic ribs in the sanctuary and one of the most beautiful Mannerist altars in the northwestern Croatia.
