I came to visit tweed with my sister and 3 year old son. From opening the door to leaving I felt so uncomfortable. It all started with opening the door and walking up to a lady who worked there, I said hi do we choose a table or do we wait to be seated as I was unsure if tables had been reserved ect. To get a response so cold and rude. "sit where you want thats if you can find a table". I kind of brushed that off and thought maybe she is just having an off day as we all do. Then to see the two blonde haired ladies who worked there whispering. Slightly rude! I was unsure if we had to book or if this is how she acts with unfamiliar faces. I was unsure of how we order so I decided to go to the counter after sitting at the table for 10 minutes to order,to then see every other person that arrived had there orders taken at the table. I get that it may get busy at times but they had a chance to both stand at the counter whispering and stopped when I looked. We had our lunch served without cutlery but asked another lady who worked there I believe she may have worked in the kitchen she was lovely. Once we had finished our lunch I went up to the counter to ask what flavour a certain cake was and if we could order some please. To be told to wait a minute and then she started to clean up a table. Me and my sister make it a weekly thing to have a catch up at our usual place which is the village teapot in Arksey. But we decided we would try a new place as we was out that side of town! Big mistake would never return. I own my own business and would never dream of acting this way in front of my clients and would hate them to think I had ever been rude or upset them. On a positive note the cake was really moist and very tasty despite this I would not return as a customer due to the poor service we received.Dear Danielle, Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to our Coffee Shop. Even though you have made a special effort to share the poor customer service you claim we provided, I am still always pleased to receive feedback as it is the best tool for improvement. I can see that we are the only Coffee Shop you have taken the time to comment on, in fact the only place you have ever visited and reviewed on Trip Advisor - you obviously don’t find time to offer kind words to those small independent establishments which surprises me, especially as you say you are a business owner yourself. You arrived on a very busy lunchtime and although there was an element of dis-orientation for a few minutes as there were no tables immediately available, I recall how we quickly juggled tables to find you a seat. Due to the fact that we were very busy service might not have been as quick as you would have liked it. You did not have to eat your lunch without cutlery, it did arrived immediately after your food rather than before - I am sorry for the short delay, human error and after all, we are all human! We do have a record of being noted for our friendly service and all the previous reviews on Trip Advisor commend us for this - I am not sure how or why it all went so pear shaped for your visit but sometimes things do go wrong and we try hard to rectify the issues. With this in mind, it would have been nice if you had mentioned your distinct dissatisfaction when you were asked, ‘If everything was ok’, prior to you leaving - then maybe we could have gained some comfort knowing we had been given the opportunity to try and make things right. For my part, I apologise for your wasted afternoon spent at Tweed and genuinely express my disappointment that you feel the experience was one you would not care to repeat - but on the subject of rudeness, It is hard not to get upset when people make such personal comments about you, which makes me wonder if on this occasion you are possibly the one expressing rudeness.I will park this response now and hope that potential customers read the reviews from other customers enabling them to make a more accurate judgement of our lovely Coffee Shop . . . .but on a positive note - if nothing else, I am pleased you enjoyed your cake x

So Good It Yurts

We are a small coffee shop selling a small range of groceries, wines and spirits for consumption on and off the premises. Breakfast, lunch and small plates at teatime to be enjoyed with your favourite tipple!!

My mother and I visited fairly recently to the yurt. The staff were extremely friendly throughout our whole visit (Laura, and another lovely lady), and nothing was too much bother for them. They were both warm, and chatty, a perfect combination. The cappuccino wasn't too frothy, and was closer to a latte, but the scone was perfect! We also had the avocado on toast, with eggs, which was great value for money! (maybe only two eggs, rather than three would be better). The toast and avocado were both extremely filling, and the bread was some of the nicest that I've ever tasted (and, believe me, I'm picky about my bread)!

Feast is certainly a good name for a restaurant. This relatively new one in Bawtry makes an impact with its bright orange logo and bright orange metal chairs and serviettes that contrast with light and dark grey both inside and outside. It has been opened for less than a year, right on the junction of the road to Austerfield with the road to Doncaster. The owners have chosen to concentrate on breakfast trade from 8 AM in the morning and close their food service for lunches at 2:30 p.m. They only have a dozen small tables and with the weather changing cannot rely on those outside. The establishment is open 7 days a week. Huge orange letters on the wide windows proudly say that everything is made fresh.Bawtry has many cafés and restaurants of varying standards. Feast has quite a long menu on a clipboard but there is nothing on it that makes it stand out from the others, which it needs to do, because it is away from the main shopping centre. There are plenty of snacks on toast. It sits next to the Phoenix Theatre, but does not open for pre-show meals! Parking is quite difficult, but there is the chance that one could go into the Health Centre car park opposite. On entering, one sees huge skeleton clock and solid planking floor and this theme is repeated with planking tables. My wife and I went in there for lunch, hoping that it would be as successful as the design and marketing. I regret to say that we were disappointed. After a very good start with quick service of our tea in a larger than normal solid light green china teapot that did not spill and gave 3 cups each, we chose the Dish of the Day. It was a beef stew with odd bits of potato and were hot, but both of us sent back our food, because it was just lukewarm. I cannot understand why this happened on a day when there were not many people in the place at that time. One would have thought that the owners, noticing that we were not usual customers, would have made sure not to disappoint us with nearly cold food. When the beef was returned to us a hot, we realised that this stew was over-salted and the meat had been reduced to a constitution which was more like soup. The staff were friendly enough. The desserts were limited. We chose a local quality ice cream to go with our fruit salad.Dogs are welcome and there is a box of books for children. There are vegan choices. The restaurant does a takeaway service. Because the premises are small there are only 2 toilets, one for each sex and a baby change in the female one. They are new, attractively wallpapered from waist height, clean and have an inspection rota, that is kept up-to-date. The pricing for a very full breakfast is reasonable and as other restaurants in the town are not open normally at 8 AM, this looks like their niche market. Whether or not it will sustain them is anybody’s guess.

Even though Torworth Grange is very much local to me this is my first visit. I'm really impressed. The setting is picturesque with a nice little play area to keep a active 2yr old happy( they even have indoor toys) with spacious swatting inside and out. The service is quick and the staff are all very friendly and chatty. The food is well priced( mid ranged) and of a good quality, it's certainly a ploughman's lunch I would recommend with cheese a-plenty, washed down with a decent pot of tea! The children's portions are equally generous. As a note, the changing facilities are great. My little one is pretty much loo trained but they have reserve stocks of nappies/wipes in the baby changing which I though for a parent's point of view was a really nice touch, and first time I have seen it done.I will certainly be returning
