We visited with 2 children (3 and 7) and were hosted for the visit by Victor. Having booked the tour by email at 1730 the night before the visit, we were pleasantly surprised that there was only us and another group of 2. The visit cost 12€ (Free for kids) and included a walk through the bodegas with an excellent description of how the different types of sherries are made and how they all differ in taste. It also included tasting 5 different sherries, 2 straight from the cask, which was a real novelty. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Sanlúcar. Thank you to Victor for being such a great host.

This superb early Roman city is very well preserved in relation to other cities whch have been built over. It has everything, the forum, the ships, the great Roman highway and city gates, columns, the magnificent amphitheatre, the saltng pits near the beach, temples, necropolis, statues, viaduct, baths etc etc. The layout is clearly visible and work is still in progress as it will be for years to come. The visitor centre and museum attached in a beautiful building. Some of the exhibits were not available due to winter refurbishing but we could not coomplain as their was plenty to see. One of the statues was found as late as 2012 so there is obviously more to come. We will be back. Our one criticism is that the whole site is FREE to view for EU nationals. Why? We would have gladly paid 5 Euros each for the experience. We have noticed this tendency in Spain not to charge for historical venues or very small amount such as 1.80 Euros. Visitor should contribute to the venues as the staff have to be paid and the buildings kept up to standard, never mind funding for more digging and research! The Spanish Government is missing a trick here.

Wow, views to die for but one hell of a precarious climb to get there, not for the faint hearted!! €2 entrance fee very reasonable. Well worth the effort. Buy tickets in tourist information office.

My 7th visit now. A great way to spend some time away from the beach - just €5 to walk the trail under the cool trees and see a good range of outdoor sculptures. Allow at least two hours for both sections and the indoor bunker buildings (the dog video and haman are great). The James Turrell is the best I've seen anywhere in the world - a definite highlight.

Personally it’s the best beach in the area. The sunsets are breathtaking and you can see them after spending the whole day surfing while you enjoy a live flamenco concert
