Lake Daylesford

Reviewed By Susan188 - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

There r so many approaches to the lake .. it's breathtaking early in the morning or wgen dusk falls ... The concept for the lake was mooted in the early 1890s .. to create a lake close to Daylesfordand near the mineral springs .. but the Lake Daylesford was only built in 1929 & officially opened in 1930 w a lot of fanfare and excitement .. Lake Daylesford has become a main attraction for all visitors & popular w locals ... It is a haven for the local bird life, a place for everyone of all ages to relax, enjoy a picnic, take a scenic walk & enjoy the glorious views tt surrounds it .. :)) .. It was a good climb, up down to the lake ..

Convent Gallery

A feast for the senses, the gallery is more than a three level haven of fine art in an historic 19th century mansion. With its decadent retail areas, Mediterranean restaurant, relaxing Altar bar and lounge, restored chapel, nuns museum, penthouse apartment...

I always wanted to visit The Convent Gallery and it did not disappoint. Sectioned off into the nuns museum, art gallery, huge gift shop and very popular cafe, The Gallery overlooks beautiful gardens and spectacular views over Daylesford. It costs $5 admission for adults but is well worth it. So much history and art work. Visit and enjoy.

Daylesford Cider Company

A warm welcome awaits you at our tavern-style cellar-door, only 5 mins east of Daylesford (1.5hrs from Melbourne & Geelong, 1hr from Bendigo). Here we make a range of traditional style ciders using the heritage cider apples grown organically on the farm, alongside other locally sourced apples. Sample them all with a cider tasting paddle ($15, 7 glasses of different ciders) and pick which ones you want to take home with you. Lunch is served Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday, offering a modest menu which changes throughout the year. Expect wood fired pizza, platters & light lunches during the warmer months, and heartier warming dishes during winter. Bookings for lunch are strongly recommended on weekends and public holidays, especially for groups. We also host private functions, live music, tours, picnics in the orchard, bridal showers, probus lunches, post-wedding recoveries & wedding ceremonies. Just get in touch to find out how we can help you with your next celebration, cheers!

Just had a lovely lunch in the garden at Daylesford Cider. Tasting platter and pizzas were scrumptious. Driving so missed out on the ciders this time but the sparking apple juice was delightful. Will definitely be going again.

I came into the information centre with one small question in mind, and instead I came out with a wealth of knowledge about how to enrich my short stay in Dalesford. They have a plethora of brochures to help assist in your decision making about how to carry out your stay. The staff are kind, and determined to help you in any way they can. I thought I was going to have a slow relaxing stay in Dalesford, but instead I was busy visiting all these impressive Dalesford attractions.
