We had a terrific late-afternoon 3 course meal with several drinks, the service was welcoming, friendly and efficient, the food was absolutely delicious, the fish curry is to die for and it's probably the best garlic bread we've ever tasted. Marvellous value at £72 for 3 courses and several drinks including wine.

Wanted coffee before concert - sorry coffee machine not used before shows - I can appreciate that an hour before a show but this was over 2 hours before the show and the cafe was empty! Ok I’ll have filter coffee and it came in a grotty paper cup. I wouldn’t bother coming here before a concert again. Very poor quality service.I am sorry you had such a disappointing experience in our Concert Hall cafe restaurant and have passed your comments on.

Whilst staying in Aldeburgh came across this excellent little restaurant with friendly staff and delicious food both on the menu and specials board also catered very well for gluten free can highly recommend and would not hesitate to go back it was a very packed evening but there was no wait for service or the food and there was no rush in between courses which in some places you can get so cannot wait to go back when next in the area

The carboot is really good, and I would recommend a visit either to buy, or sell. The shop (in our opinion) is extremely overpriced, for example: a bloomer loaf £2.00, a Savoy cabbage: £1.90!!! We are all for trying to support local produce, but £1.90 for a cabbage is beyond belief! Worth a look though if you are passing, to see if pricing improves.Clareybun, Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are really disappointed that you didn't enjoy your visit to our farmshop. Unlike supermarkets who buy in huge bulk for reduced costs you will find most independent farm shops are around the same in pricing. We are not part of any chain and so we price accordingly and to our costings... We have regular customers as well as many returning visitors who spend with us knowing we are a farm with costs to cover there is so much more to pricing than some people realise. Our bread is from a local family run bakery and where possible our produce is either homegrown or UK sourced. As a farm shop we sell high quality produce and we don't belive in cheaper always being the best. We hope you will try us again. many thanks

Lovely buffet of well cooked seasonal dishes including great veggie options too.Dishes like deviled kidneys, cod and macaroni, venison pie, mushroom stroganoff, quail and ravioli. All well cooked and fresh as a daisy.Super friendly chef who wasnt shy of portion size and letting you try multi dishes.Buffet is £18.50 all desserts are £6.50 and include panacota, bread and butter pudding and profiterolls.Only a couple of small improves to mention, long queue at the bar (but they did have a large coach party in), slow at taking plates away and flies in the dining room (difficult to sort this I understand in summer)

Eaten here several times over the years and this is the first time I’ve come away mildly disappointed. Service a bit disinterested even though not busy. I had baked haddock which was ok, a fair bit of skin and bone, and the accompanying poached egg was well cooked ( being kind). As we shop here regularly will no doubt try again, but there are so many excellent eateries in the area I may not.Thank you for your feedback and sorry you didn't enjoy your meal as much as previously. Our Cafe 1885 menu is regularly reviewed to keep it fresh and seasonal. We hope you will return again.

Walked from Snape Maltings on Sunday lunchtime and decided to sit inside as it was cooler for our dog. We got a warm welcome and got a lovely table. Hubby and I had fish and chips with homemade mushy peas and tartare sauce whilst son had the salt and pepper chicken with curry mayo and a portion of chips. The food was brilliant, everything was superb, we couldn’t fault it. Will definitely be back!

The Plough and Sail is in the rather uninspiring Snape Maltings shopping complex (apart from the brilliant concert hall). We had a very poor meal. The main issue was we ordered the special of a dover sole tempura, which was a nice tower of tempura swimming in a sort of runny fish and red pepper soup. So within a minute we were looking at a plate of food that had turned to a mush of soggy batter and fish strips. I have to hope that on this day the chef had simply got it wrong as there are so many other good reviews.

The Crown Inn

Booked a table, visiting area. Staff ok and were served promptly. Menu wasn’t that inspiring but it was lobster week! So lobster was ordered .. very underwhelming considering the price of it (£30.00), fish and chips .. very small portion of fish sat on top of some cheap frozen chips with a pot of dried up mushy peas, (£12.99) and lastly the pork parcels .. again very small portion, 2 spring rolls with a mound of leaves and dipping sauce, honestly thought we had ordered a starter in error. That came with a dish of the lack lustre chips (£12.00). Dessert saved the day though, we certainly had room for one! All in all, very over priced. Looking at a few of the other reviews, the menu hasn’t changed at all in years!
