The Zest Restaurant

Most disappointing lunch we have had in quite some time. Both food quality and service very poor.- Meals all came at different times- All 3 of the baked potatoes ordered were cold and had to be returned- Prawn Marie Rose filling for both baked potatoes and sandwich was mushy and tasteless- We wanted to finish off with coffee but waited ages for table to be cleared and asked if we wanted anything else despite lots of staff wandering about and had to go up to the bar to ask to be served- Coffees took over 15 mins for the first to arrive and then all came at different times despite only one other table of customers- Were not asked if we wanted small or regularly coffee so no surprise we were charged for the more expensive at over £3 eachAl in all a complete disaster for what was a family birthday lunch and we will not be back. It’s not cheap and neither food quality or service were anywhere near acceptable.Good EveningThank you for your feedback from your recent visit.I am so sorry to hear about all the issues you encountered while here for your lunch. We strive to offer a high quality product with a service to match and I can only apologize that this did not happen during your visit. If you come back you will see that we have taken your feedback and put practices in place to ensure this was a one off.thanks very muchGlen

My whole family just love this place, on a weekly basis we stop in when we are in Irvine for rolls filled to the brim with delicious quality fillings at great prices. My daughter adores the fuss the ladies make of her when she comes with her grandparents and truly relishes her treat going to Dandans. This place is a wee gem and we will continue for it to be our first choice when visiting Irvine. The food is amazing but the service makes it perfect. Many Thanks Again.Thank you very much for your glowing review. Comments like yours makes all our efforts worthwhile knowing that we are pleasing our customers. We genuinely enjoy engaging with all our customers and we look forward to seeing them every week. Many thanks. Ps. Sorry for my late response. We normally get an email notification of new reviews but on this occasion we must have missed it or we didn’t receive it for some reason. Apologies.

A surprisingly nice bar inside. The outside does not do it justice. Inside is very trendy, smart furniture, nicely decorated, great lighting and a very well stocked bar. I like the place and would definitely go back.

With a wall of glass onto the river Irvine and Garnock this lovely cafe offers well priced high quality food and drinks. Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff served drinks and sandwiches in double time. Worth a visit just to sit by the window and enjoy the view with an ice cream float. Thank you so much for your lovely review. It really means a lot to myself and the staff when people take the time to write a review especially when it is as positive as yours. I will pass on your comments to the staff. We certainly have the best view in Irvine, hope to see you again soon!

Four of us went here for lunch and the food and service were spot on.We all had starters and main courses, satay chicken, goats cheese crumble, spicy cauliflower and mozzarella sticks to begin with and satay chicken salad, haggis nachos, salt and chilli chicken burger and New Orleans salmon for mains. All of the food was great and big portions too.Prices are slightly more than other eateries in the area but marginal and worth every penny. The restaurant seats about thirty people and it would be advisable to book as it is a busy place.Plenty of staff on and they are very attentive and pleasant, well worth a visit.
