Top 10 Breweries in Arkansas, United States

Living up to its billing as “The Natural State”, the state is a nature wonderland with three national forests, nearly 9,000 miles of pristine streams and rivers, awe-inspiring settings in the Ozark and Quachita mountains and sparkling lakes.

The menu of vacation experiences is an exciting one. For great golf, spas, horse racing and the Hot Springs National Park, Hot Springs is the place to go. Outdoor enthusiasts love the Ozark Mountains where activities like canoeing, rafting, kayaking, fishing, hiking and rock climbing are popular. The mountain village of Eureka Springs, with its streets lined with Victorian homes, is brimming with boutiques, antique shops and art galleries. Wine enthusiasts love the Arkansas Wine Country, encompassing the towns of Paris, Ozark and Altus, where German style wines are produced. From its ancient mountains to the Delta flatlands leveled by the Mississippi River, the state has a diverse topography with numerous scenic drives. Try the Pig Trail, Ozark Highlands and Sylamore scenic byways in the Ozark National Forest designated by the U.S. Forest Service. Golfers love the state because greens fees are extremely affordable for great courses. A few excellent public access courses are Sage Meadows in Jonesboro, Stonebridge Meadows in Fayetteville and the Mountain Ranch Course in Fairfield Bay.

This was a really fun stop on our trip in the Fayetteville/Bentonville area. This is probably the best hard cider I've ever had and they have a delicious selection. We ordered flights and enjoyed them outside on the patio which is the only section open because of the pandemic right now.

Superior Bathhouse Brewery and Distillery

Rose Schweikhart has always been obsessed with suds. An early love of music blossomed during her childhood in Morristown, NJ leading to degrees in classical Tuba from Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut, and the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England. During her year living and travelling abroad, Rose fell in love with the beers of Germany, England, and Belgium. Home brewing experimentations were early attempts to recreate those traditional beer styles. In 2011, Rose moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas with an impossibly big dream: to brew beer commercially using the city's famous 144 degree spring water. She formed a company and began the arduous two year negotiation to lease a historic former-bathhouse in the heart of Hot Springs National Park from the federal government. Construction began in late spring of 2013 and today, the Superior Bathhouse is home to the only brewery in a US National Park and the only brewery in the world to utilize thermal spring water in their beer. Rose considers beer to be a creative process. Like the varied timbers and dynamics one can coax from a tuba, grains, hops, and yeast offer an endless creative pallet, and create she does. Rose and the Superior Bathhouse brewing team crank out a constant stream of new beer from the original to the outlandish. If you ever find yourself in Arkansas, please stop by the Superior and experience #HotSpringsOnTap for yourself!

Stone's Throw MacPark Brewpub & Biergarten

Stone’s Throw Brewing is the product of four guys—Theron Cash, Brad McLaurin, Shawn Tobin and Ian Beard—who met in the local homebrew club, the Central Arkansas Fermenters. After doing most of the work themselves to turn a century old building in Little Rock’s MacArthur Park Historic District into a production facility, they began brewing operations on July 4, 2013 and opened an onsite taproom on August 1, 2013. Stone’s Throw Brewing specializes in small-batch, artisanal beers that are both creative and drinkable. The Stone’s Throw Brewing MacPark Brewpub & Biergarten is open to the public Tuesday-Thursday, 4-9 pm, Friday 4-10 pm, Saturday 12-10 pm, and Sunday 11 am-9 pm. Weekly events include Game Night at 6 pm Tuesdays, all night happy hour Wednesdays, Free Trivia at 6:30pm on Thursdays, new beer releases every Friday, brewery tours at 1 & 3 pm Saturday & Sunday, and beer to go during regular business hours including Sundays.
