We enjoyed our evening in this little but ambitious gem. Our choice was the 5 course set menu. Talbot and rabbit were to the point - just delicious! The cod was a bit dry - our only room for improvement. Bouffard serves little dishes with almost no carbs (except for the bread).The white house wine (Touraine Sauvignon Blanc) is on above average quality level. The Malbec Reserva was just fine with the rabbit. The bill was not low but at fully acceptable price-performance level. We'll be back!

Heerlijk eten is het bij De Bonte Kip zeker wel.Ditmaal zaten we natuurlijk binnen, maar er was wat fout gelopen.Reservatie niet op de lijst, de bestelde Vide Bonte Kip niet doorgekomen.OK, het was er mss druk, maar toch belangrijk.Echter, het blijft een lekkere lokatie om naar uit te wijken.Tom doet dit ook zeer goed, al mag de stressy feel er wat af Tom.Goed bezig en aanrader.

The food in the restaurant was delicious, the staff friendly and correct, the serice correct but the portions are small. If you don't take a menu, you haven't had enough to eat. But it is very nice there and they brought extra chips with our main course. Also the house wine was very good.

this is perfect place for a nice evening. We selected the surprise menu and were very pleased. All tree courses were well prepared and presented. The service was nice and friendly but a bit slow.

Zaterdagavond hebben wij een verjaardag gevierd, want 85 jaar dat kan tellen. We hadden gereserveerd en we zijn vriendelijk ontvangen. Het was er gezellig en pa in zijn rolstoel en de kleinkinderen met hun kinderstoelen, zaten mee aan de tafel. Het was er erg druk en toch hebben wij niet zo lang moeten wachten. Alles was naar wens en wij komen zeker terug.

Every time we come here, one of the owners greas us and does a reccommendation on drinks and food specials. The service is exceptional. The food is als very good. If you have the specialty of the house "dry salted aged beef", the chef (other owner) comes to your table to present the meat and preparation. I love coming here and will definitely come back!

"Balense kippenreepjes" one of their specialities, small chicken slices in Stroganoff sauce. Quite tasty and original. Otherwise menu with different choices of quality made dishes: ribs, steak, fish, pasta, ... Ice cream desserts are nice. If you wish to eat out generous and tasty, this is a place to be.

Brasserie Chapeau is een gezellige en sfeervolle locatie. We zijn gelegen in het centrum van Mol. Je kan hier genieten van een drankje of een hapje naar ieders budget. Wij hebben ook een gezellig verwarmd terras.

What Dave and Kris achieved in Balen is truly magnificent. They created a beautiful space where people can enjoy in a very convivial atmosphere the delicious food that is brought to the table. Being a vegetarian, I much appreciate the vegetarian menu that offers a choice that goes far beyond what you'll normally find in the better Belgian brasserie. The wines have been carefully selected and I cannot imagine anyone not finding something there that he or she can appreciate.
