Chateau de Vignee

Perfect stay!

Reviewed By kimjB5993BH

This weekend we stayed with our 2 children and dog (which was welcomed very nice) in chateau de vignee. The total stay was perfect! The staff is extremly friendly and does everthing to make your stay the best possible. Today we needed to leave early and the hotel did everything to make sure we could have breakfast before the regular hours. We used the wellness and the massages were very nice, also with the roomservice was no effort to much! We will definitely return!

Cozy hotel with great views

Reviewed By Erik D

A little up the hillside is the cozy Hotel La Ferronniére. A nice villa, which has been converted into a hotel. The site has been expanded with a wellness center and suites in an annex. We visited the place for an extended weekend. 3 nights with breakfast and dinners, of which 1 dinner as gourmet. The rooms are very stylishly decorated. 2 of the rooms have a balcony overlooking the city. The hotel has a nice terrace with the same good views. The food is excellent and significantly better than you can otherwise get in Bouillon. However, it does not reach the Bib Gourmet level that the hotel was otherwise awarded in 2020. The restaurant suffers from a significant flaw. The kitchen can not keep up when fully occupied, resulting in long waits between dishes. We thus had to wait 45 min between second dish and the main course.

Passed one night in the caravan, which stinked of sewer like crazy. The owner denied that saying that it "smelled like wood". Very unpleasant behaviour from the owner. Decent breakfast. All in all not to be recommended.

A nice Place to stay if you like the Ardennes and are not too afraid of muddy feet. It´s a Family and Kids -friendly Hotel for Outdooractivists but also great for Congresses and Familyreunions. It might occur that the Parkingsport run out or that you have to get used to find your way to the room after the Doors are locked.

Le Presbytere de Sautour

A truly hidden gem

Reviewed By Manualders

My friend and I were recommended the Presbytere de Sautour by the Tourism Information clerk from Philippeville. Without having a booking, the manager allowed us to enter and gave us a nice table. The atmosphere was cosy and lively thanks to the local guitar player and the very attentive staff. Drinks were great and the food was amazing. Located in an old Presbyterian convent/school (?) this a true hidden gem not far from Philippeville. Absolutely recommendable.

Auberge des Cretes

Unacceptable

Reviewed By Ignace D

We were in this hotel for a biking weekend in the Ardennes. And we choose this place because of the good TripAdvisor comments. Check in by the landlord was rather cold but maybe he didn’t have a good day, this happens so we didn’t really care. Upon opening the door of the room (nr 1) by the landlord we were met by a foul smell, really unpleasant. Upon which the landlord disappeared. No way he didn’t notice. We assumed it had something to do with fact that the room had not been used for a couple of days so we opened the window hoping this would go away and went for dinner in a nearby town. Upon return the smell in the room and especially in the bathroom was terrible. We flushed all the sinks, closed all the vents but no response. Luckily the weather was great so we slept with the bathroom door closed and the windows full open. That worked. Of course taking a shower in the morning was not very pleasant because of the smell of burned gasoline. We realized the hotel was full so complaining to get another room would not have worked so we hung on for another day. WiFi during all of our 2 day stay didn’t work. Breakfast was great. No comments here. Upon checking out the landlord asked if everything had been OK. So I mentioned the really bad smell and the lack of WiFi int eh hotel. Both these issues he apparently was fully aware of…. He came up with the excuse that they had only taken over the hotel a couple of months ago and were working on solving the problems. This is NOT a valid excuse; If we pay full price for the room, we expect to also get the complete service. If a landlord knows a room has a problem, then he simply can’t rent it out. It is that simply. We paid to get a clean fresh room and not a smelly room without WiFi full of excuses.
