Excellent budget choice.

Reviewed By Supadappa

La Flor is a good choice of accommodation whilst visiting this fascinating city. It's well located, close to everything of interest. Very close to the train station but a trek from the bus station. Staff were mostly friendly and welcoming. You can get breakfast which is basic but filling. I was leaving before breakfast hours after my second night so they packed me some cakes and pastries to take with me. I had a ground floor room. It was clean and pleasant. Nicely decorated. Whilst there wasn't a party going on in reception, it was a bit noisy being on this floor. I would recommend requesting a room upstairs. I later read this tip in the LP but by then it was too late. As mentioned, it's well located. Many of the main ruins are close by. As are restaurants and everything else you might need.

Perfect pet friendly hotel at the edge of town

Reviewed By samsung131

Small hotel set on the edge of town, nice room, a bit on the small side but perfectly adequate and super clean. Secure parking at the end of the block that leads under the hotel, normally €8 a night but was reduced to €5 as a special offer. Pets accepted at €8 a night. Continental breakfast was included in the room rate and was served on a tray to your room at the time you specify when checking in. We paid extra for a room with a terrace which was great for the breakfast. No evening meal but there is a good tapas bar within half a block (straight forward over the crossing outside the hotel and then half a block on the other side of the street). Snack & drink machines including coffee & beer available in reception. Disliked · It was a bit far from the main sites of Merida, about a 30 minute walk which we didnt tackle as it was over 40 degrees. I'm sure that would be possible in cooler temperatures and we will return in the autumn to try it.

A great place to stop

Reviewed By wardiemark

Nothing wrong with this place. A ten minute drive from the motorway gets you to a quiet rural village. The hotel frontage isn’t up to much but once inside you enter a charming courtyard perfect for dining and breakfast. Our room was basic but functional so we had no complaints. The family size bottle of shampoo and shower gel were a little strange but hey this is rural food better than average.

A wonderful hotel in a fantastic location!!

Reviewed By jpfSydney

This is one the loveliest hotels we styed in in Spain. Although only 1*, it is in a wonderful location right on the main square of Zafra, with beautiful views over the square and the roofs of the old town. The rooms are perfectly adequate if not large – comfortable beds, flat screen TV, and a very good breakfast is available in the fascinating Spanish courtyard of the hotel. The only unusual experience is that when we personally tried to ask for a room at around 5.30, we were told that they are fully booked – yet half an hour later we had no trouble booking a twin room on the internet… ? Anyway, we were very happy to stay here – highly recommended!

Beautiful Eye opening experience

As my first trip away from New York, i can honestly say that i have had the most beautiful and amazing experience. The villa itself is beautiful, mix of old school architecture with a modern touch. My Spanish is very limited yet i felt very welcomed, the host is simply fantastic and took care of all my needs. I can't recommend this place enough, I will definitely come back again very soon this time with a bigger group of friends so they can experience this gem located in a small town with lovely people and fantastic views

Great birthday supper!

Reviewed By Ian T

We are always looking for places to stay to on our way from North to South Spain and vice versa and this year we came across Bodega el Moral. It is a short drive off the A66 motorway but you need to be alert not to drive past the turning on to the dirt road that leads to the hotel. It is a delight. The food is excellent and the wine very good and reasonably priced. I did not regret choosing this hotel to celebrate my birthday. We ate in the courtyard outside our room. The rooms are a little old fashioned in terms of furnishing but very serviceable. The grounds are well maintained and the swimming pool looked lovely but in October too cold for us. The prices of room and meals are very reasonable and we will return and stay for more than one night to have the opportunity to explore the area. A possible downside could be if there is a wedding or big function. The layout of the rooms around the central courtyard means that there would be no escape from the noise.

Reminded me of a youth hostel but it is cheap...

Reviewed By Sarah W

The location is good - right in the centre of Badajoz so it is easy to walk round the town from the hotel. It is a very basic hotel but that is reflected in the price and its two-star rating. I wish I had spent a bit more money and found a hotel that wasn't quite so like a youth hostel, but it would suit budget travellers. Like most hotels in Spain (even the 5-star ones) there were no tea or coffee-making facilities in the room. The car park was a very tight squeeze for our large Volvo and I was very grateful that my husband did the parking!
