Amazing and memorable trip
Reviewed By ashokp907Yet again, Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve didn't disappoint. Each time, it gets better. This time, with friends from India, we stayed at the luxury tents and found it perfect. Dinner and breakfast was delicious. The restaurant manager, Jeetesh, took extra care to get us vegetarian options. The staff was warm and courteous. Our night tour to watch green turtle laying eggs was wonderful under a galaxy of stars and cool breeze blowing across. We were fortunate to watch the turtles laying eggs. Our guide Hamad Al Amri gave us good information and his understanding and turtles of the turtles was very useful for us. Overall, it was a great evening. The Morning visit to watch turtles was successful with the sunrise providing us an amazing feeling on the lovely beach. A sumptuous breakfast followed, which meant that we carry wonderful memories of the visit again. Thanks to all of Ras Al Jinz staff and the hard working team at Omran, who are taking great efforts in promoting Oman tourism.

Budget friendly and great location

Receptionist staffs and housekeeping people are all "strongly suggested" to go for the training to become "well mannered and extremely polite" with all the guest. One "exceptional" from all the receptionist is the Omani guy whose name is "Sudiqqe" he was so helpful, always smiling and very polite, accommodating and well mannered from all. The Manager namely "Mr. Bernard" who was so helpful, very professional and well mannered, is the one who made us feel comfortable and was trying to make us happy from the last few days of our stay in the hotel. He was the one who help us also to recovered my bottle of perfume and the pack of facemask which was "intentionally stolen" in our room from one of the housekeeping. Overall, if your are looking for a budget friendly hotel, Mutrah hotel can be recommended.

Reviewed By Tonyzac17Had 2 nights stay here and we were here to explore the Al Hajar mountains range and the nearby villages. To reach here one must be driving a 4WD vehicle and carry identification or will be stopped at the police check post at the base. This is a budget hotel but it doesn't compromise in cleanliness & other services they provide. Rooms are neat and reasonably spacious. The bathroom is clean and well equipped with all the basic needs. The staffs are friendly and helpful, they even have an Indian chef for those who enjoy Indian cuisine. There is even an open place for BBQ where we can cook for ourselves. The hotel is having a beautiful pool which resembles a shape of a guitar and is well maintained.

Convenient Location, Well-Maintained and Affordable
Reviewed By krupac2014Before we booked our hotel stay, we had corresponded months in advance with the Manager/Owner over WhatsApp. He had helped us with precise directions and answered all our queries happily. The day we arrived, they were surprised to find us there. It looked like we might have been the only guests there. But that didn't affect the service one bit. We were greeted by the owner couple who were themselves visiting from Muscat. We were introduced to Mr. Gopal, the cook, who took excellent care of our pure veg Indian food needs. The owner also helped organise 2 drivers for us - one for our excursion to the nearby Wadi Bani Khalid... and the other for the sunrise view at Wahiba Sands. Both the drivers were polite, charged reasonable and felt safe. The hotel itself looked like a vast property, parts of it still getting developed. There's a whole lounge area done up in traditional Omani style, with lowlevel plush seating, coffee table with a thermos of hot coffee, some dates and a water bowl. The outdoors have ample visitor parking, children's play area, a garden with aloes, date trees and some more vegetation. There also seemed to be some kind of outdoor party area for family functions or such. It was nice to come out in the night to gaze at the moon, the stars and what appeared to be a part of the galaxy. The outdoors were also fitted with sensor-lighting which i appreciated. Our room was spacious for 2 people, the bathroom large with a tub. After we came back from Wadi Bani Khalid, we enjoyed a good soak time in the tub :) The food was delicious for all our meals. We were free to choose from the fruits Gopal ji generously offered. He also made awesome espresso and cold coffee for us. We weren't given an itemised bill though, it was a blanket charge of 7 OMR for 2 people. We wish we had a longer stay here. If you are planning to visit Al Asharqiyah Sands and Wadi Bani Khalid like us, this is your place to sleep the night off. For directions - go off the exit 159 on Muscat-Sur highway. We came via Mwasalat Bus and our driver already knew the hotel, so he dropped us precisely there. Another landmark to confirm the location is the Maha Petrol Pump located at exit 159. The hotel is a 2-minute walk from the petrol pump complex.

Reasonable for a beach hotel

Our room was on the second floor facing the parking lot but it was quiet enough for us not to be bothered by the bars and disco on the opposite end of the hotel and we still had quick access to the pool and beach behind the hotel. Air conditioning worked well as well as the cable TV, plus our rate included breakfast which was plentiful (choice of Arabic, American or Continental) even though the hotel was not completely flexible about providing it earlier than their 7 am start time. It was also served inside a bar, although room service is apparently available as well. The restaurant downstairs specializes in sheesha by the way. Restaurants are plentiful in the area so don’t feel obliged to eat at the hotel. Essentially it’s a basic hotel on Al Qurum beach that’s cheaper than its neighboring hotels like the W or the Intercontinental.

The location of the hotel is almost perfect for every tourist who wants to tour around the capital just a few minutes of travel and you can reach hot spots of Oman and also Malls, Mosques and other destinations are just around the corner, over all i had an amazing stay at this hotel.
