Very nice place.

Maliba is a very nice place to stay while visiting Lesotho. Its location in the mountains is stunning and the views from every angle are wonderful! We stayed in a Riverside Chalet that fit four adults and four children easily. The chalet was nice and comfortable but was lacking for self catering purposes. It has the basics but nothing extra (stock up on coffee if you dont want to make the trip to the lodge for your first morning cup) cleanliness was a 3.5 out of 5, nothing awful but cupboards are old and dusty and corners and small spaces are not well looked after. Overall we really enjoyed our stay the hiking that can be done right from the lodge is a major bonus. Restaurant was a 3.5 out of 5, as service and food ranged from good to great depending on the meal.

A good hotel to stay that is safe and with good view of town.

The scenery guest house staff were friendly and very helpful including assisting with finding a Sim card and airtime. The hotel is reachable through a tarmac road and very close to the boarder. The room was sparkling clean with working AC, hot water and cable TV. The small fridge became convenient as I had frozen food that needed to be stored in cool temperatures.

Morija Guest Houses

The main house, perched on a rock and offering superb views, can accommodate 16 people. It is built of hand-cut stone, thatched with local grass and blends into the environment. Below are two cottages built in the traditional Basotho style with thatched roofs and decorated walls that can welcome 8 more guests. Most of our bedrooms are twin rooms but we also have a few doubles and singles and one family room for 4. The bedrooms are rustic but comfortable and tastefully decorated. Bathrooms are shared. The large dining-room and lounge of the main house can welcome up to 24 people. Visitors can choose between having the delicious meals we offer or cooking for themselves as the houses are equipped for self-catering. We are proud of our welcoming staff, our homely atmosphere, our commitment to Eco-tourism and our integration in the community. The Ha Matela Youth Centre, which we started in 2010, is located at the bottom of our site.

A home away from home

Reviewed By rpcvhrl

I have visited Morija Guesthouse several times, and I can say it is one of the most amazing places I’ve been to in all my travels. Nestled in the mountains of Lesotho, the location and scenery is unmatched. The sunrises and sunsets are picture perfect and the hospitality of the owner and staff is top notch. It really does feel like a home away from home, with a fully stocked kitchen for self catering, a rustic, homey living room for relaxing and playing any of the numerous board games they have, and an outdoor deck area that is so peaceful you can sit there for days enjoying the views. It is a place not to be missed on a trip to Lesotho.

Found this little gem after giving up on the food in my hotel. Ate there twice and had good food on both occasions - steak one night, pizza another. Service was pleasant and relatively quick. On one occasion I dined alone and was made to feel very welcome. I highly recommend it if you are in Thaba Tseke.

Nice Hotel, Good breakfast

Reviewed By courtycat

My husband and I said here during a long weekend in Maseru. We enjoyed the Hotel a lot. The room was a bit on the small side, but very comfortable with everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the mini-fridge. The breakfasts were very filling and a great way to start the day. The location was a little bit out of the way, though we don't have a car, so if you have a car it really is pretty centrally located. When we come back to Maseru we will certainly plan to stay here.
