After 2 false starts due to covid we finally arrived...and it was worth the wait!. Our hazards view cabin had amazing views. Although it is separate from the main area it was spacious and clean with the bonus of a sitting area. Large deck and little extras like yoga mat, hammock ,binoculors , wine were nice touches.Massive bathroom with heater and heated towel rail.. Staff at reception were so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble..Continental breakfast was excellent. The remoteness and the views are the jewels of this resort.Highly recommend.....and the road in wasnt that bad!!

Meredith House is a heritage listed 1853 property located centrally in the beautiful seaside town of Swansea on the east coast of Tasmania, the perfect base from which to explore the Freycinet Region and all it has to offer, including Wineglass Bay and Maria Island. 11 en-suite rooms, four with spa bathrooms. Full breakfast is included in the tariff. Meredith House is renowned for its excellent service; a past winner of Peoples Choice at the Tasmanian Tourism Awards and a Top-Ten Finalist in 2018.
A period house (circa 1850's) which is quite charming with its eclectic decorations. The room was comfortable and contained everything you would need as well as a decanter of port. A bonus was the home made muffins you received on arrival. Breakfast was stunning. Quite the best I have tasted in years of travelling over every continent (except Antartica). Even provided us with a doggie bag for the left over bakery products (all home made and superb). Highly recommended and we will try and go back there in the not too distant future.

Freycinet Waters is in the heart of Swansea village. Everything is within an easy flat walk. Our property looks across the road to the delightful Great Oyster Bay. Water views can be found from most rooms and definitely from the breakfast room. Eat a filling 'English' breakfast while gazing out at the water. A great way to start the day. For those who are adventurous the menu includes black pudding and haggis. Our colour scheme reflects the water and the hues of the great sunrises & sunsets that you can see from the property. A 1930's style at the front of the house and a more modern day feel at the rear gives Freycinet Waters that light airy feel. Our prices include breakfast (or breakfast provisions), WiFi (the modern essential) and a small port to help you rest at the end of a busy day.
We appreciated Karen ( host ) taking us in at short notice due to our original place booked having temporarily closed due to a covid issue. Easy to find this place as is on main road into town and close to cafes/restaurants/shops. Our room was 'cosy' but had all the basics we needed, also had a small balcony with a table and 2 chairs and you had a lovely view over the water. Slept in a comfortable bed and in the morning enjoyed a good breakfast in a sunlit alcove area. We had fruit, and then a cooked breakfast - eggs, bacon, tomatoes, also toast& jam, orange juice and plunger coffee. Good position to stay as easy day trip drive to Freycinet National Park and Coles Bay.

Fiona and Peter were great hosts, very welcoming and friendly. The house is warm, a great vibe and relaxing. The gardens are beautiful- We loved it. We also enjoyed our breakfasts both mornings, the home-made fruit was delicious. The care and attention to every detail was evident in the flowers in our room and chocolates. Thank you for having us

The cabin we were given was not what I thought I’d booked at all What we were in was a small shack/ cabin while the picture featured on Booking . Com was of a modern clean open residence The rate I was very highI actually paid similar in Hobart in a 5 star hotel including breakfast I feel that’s a misrepresentation I did complain and was told if I’d looked further on the booking site I would have seen the cabins I’d have never booked in this poor quality accomodation especially at 5 star prices Tv doesn’t work properly, no milk in fridge ( they were providing tea coffee etc) Location is ok but accomodation 30 years out of date !!

2 night stay to see the sites of Freycinet and the accommodation was very lovely for us - with a good variety of options provided for a continental breakfast. Our host was lovely and welcoming and provided some good local insights. Local township has modest but ok for supplies with the local cafe providing good meal options.

Two fully self-contained 1 bedroom apartments apartments, The Lookout - 2 story, 1 King bedroom and The Nook - 1 King bedroom. The House is a 2 King bedroom, fully self contained house that can be configured one king and two single beds. Both one bedroom apartments are ocean front at Cod Rock Point in the East Coast township of Bicheno. Penguins frequent the grounds around the apartments most of the year, and we front onto a 3 klm foreshore walk that goes around town to our blowhole. Both apartments have views over Waub's Bay and Cod Rock Terrace and views overlooking Diamond Island. Set in landscaped gardens with native gums that attract many bird species. All only 500 m or so from local shops and restaurants and only one half hour drive from the world-renowned Freycinet National Park/Wineglass Bay. The oerfect place to stop, relax and live life like a local.
From the moment we walked into the house you feel at home. It is modern but not minimalist, lots of wood finishes but not dated. Oozes comfort and relaxation. We were quite happy to just veg out for a while. The upstairs master suite was the icing on the cake. And then there was the fairy penguins coming to say hello overnight with a nest right outside the front door. This house deserves a 5 star rating.

Incredible and very generous hosts - with the most delicious and broad range of breakfast offers (the banana and walnut muffins are to die for, fresh orange juice, Tassie blueberries and the individual yogurts were great and tasty). Great comfortable king bed and whisper quiet location. Spotlessly clean. Great range of Sukin hand creams, moisturizer and even a make up remover! Fluffy towels. Just wonderful. Jen is such a warm and welcoming host - generous with her time and local information. Awesome to have a personalised beer tasting with host Mark who brews his own and supplies all the local restaurants and pubs - Belgian Golden Ale, California Steam Beer, Hazy Bayz and Creamy Irish Ale - my husband loved all with his particular favourite the Belgian Golden Ale. Very generous of the hosts - loved it. And definitely a mention to Jenna for her warm welcome (and she does love a tummy rub).

Don’t be put off by the exterior, the Waterloo Inn Restaurant is definitely worth a visit! The food was absolutely delicious, and the menu changes daily. We loved it so much we tried to rebook for the following night, unfortunately they were closed! Fantastic experience, run by a lovely couple, would absolutely recommend.
