Only slight criticism is they need to be a little more contactable regarding check in, I was on a tight slot between a church wedding and the reception but all was ok, just

No change here, definitely no improvement. The only drastic change is the price. Really not worth it. This is really a step backwards. Good we still have one spoons in Aylesbury. The big fanfare of this place lived up to nothing. I'm very happy we still have the white hart. Decent food for a decent price.

Lovely hotel but...

Reviewed By Eric51

Stayed just the one night. Both the room and bathroom were very spacious and comfortable. Apart from the noisy guests occupying 3 rooms nearby and thought it would be a great idea to have a full blown conversation outside our room at 1.30 in the morning, the two things that let the hotel down was the bright green light from what i assume was the smoke detector, which lit up the whole bedroom, and the very noisy fire doors one of which was directly outside our room and slammed shut every time someone went through it.

Tremendous Food&Drink -Friendly staff-nice setting

Stayed for 2 nights, DBB. The menu was excellent. Fresh food, excellent combination of ingredients, balanced options of courses, cooked very well. Staff were attentive, polite and polished. A special mention to the local Chiltern and Tring Cask beers, which were on top notch. The price was very fair and the accommodation, which was basic but, clean, with a very comfortable bed was just what we required after a great meal and long days out. Thoroughly recommend and we will visit again.

Late cancellation by hotel

Cancelled stay just over two weeks before visit due to overbooking, was a couple of weeks after booking so assume they got a better offer. Pretty poor really to do this with little notice, we have two young kids and arranging a night away is not that easy. They offered to rebook but why would we do that with a place that had let us down already with hardly an apology?

Great stopover

Reviewed By Lloyd M

We were in the area to attend a concert at the MK stadium and booked a room here as one of the few places still available, even though not right in the middle of Milton Keynes. The room was fine for a place to rest for the night. What was excellent, however, was how great the landlady and landlord were, as well as the other member of bar staff we met. They offered to run us into Milton Keynes as there were no taxis available, just for a little petrol money, and their son picked us up again after the concert. The barman when we got back was very friendly, serving us drinks and playing our song requests. In the morning, we woke up at the very time that we had been told they were going to stop serving breakfast, but when I went downstairs for a cigarette the landlady still offered me a breakfast even though I was late. It really felt like they couldn’t do enough for us - lovely people!
