Playa Castellar

Reviewed By fionak892 - London, United Kingdom

We went for a late afternoon swim in September a couple of times and saw two amazing sunsets while on this beach. The best spot to view the sunsets is at the Island end of the beach near the beach bar and look towards Bolnuevo. As it was a windy day there were surfers out surfing in the sunset. It was lovely to chill out and relax watching a gorgeous sunset

Playa de Nares

Although the beach at Puerto de mazarron is long and wide, it gets very busy. This beach is a short drive (but walkable) and is a quieter option....wish we had discovered it earlier! Has a beach bar with shelter from the sun. Parking on road is easy. Has a public toilet and foot fountain etc.

Playa de la Ermita

Reviewed By snakehipsdawn46 - Cheshire, United Kingdom

My wife and I have visited Playa de la Ermita on countless occasions during the past seven months or so. The beach itself is small, and situated in an enclosed inlet which is somewhat reminiscent of a Caribbean cove. It has a wilder, less manicured look than the nearby port beach. As you look out to sea, the nautical boating club is on the right, and there is also a beachcomber-like cafe, with outdoor tables and facilities situated right on the decking leading to the beach. Unusually, there is also a beachside catholic church, which has many services during the summer months, in particular. During the warm days of summer, the church's side doors are opened, and members of the congregation can participate in the service, and lean out and almost touch the sand from where they sit. All in, it's a small but lovely spot, with other larger beaches within walking distance to both the left and right. Do give it a try if you're ever in the Bahia area of Puerto de Mazarron, as I doubt you'll be disappointed by the overall experience!
