Popham Beach State Park

State park and beach area that is located on a peninsula near Bath, Maine.

We spent three days at Popham Beach and loved it. The views are spectacular, you can walk to historic forts and at low tide walk out to a rocky island. It was a little chilly here in early October, but this is definitely a place I would recommend and hope we are able to return to in warmer weather good place to watch a sunset!

Ferry Beach

Had my first trip here after nine years in Maine and I have no idea how I went so long without hearing about this gem of a beach! Sprawling stretches of sand great for couples, solo trips, or families. Water was shallow and the warmest I've felt of the Atlantic yet. A hermit crab migration made it a great time to watch and get up close to the wildlife. Looking forward to exploring more of the shoreline in search of more sea glass picking! Great place for shells!

Reid State Park

This state park has two miles of hiking trails and a beautiful beach.

Reviewed By mainelocally - Wiscasset, United States

Reid State Park has the most beautiful wide sandy beaches with sand bars and tidal pools. There are multiple beaches to choose from in the state park so that it is almost never crowded. Along the rockier parts are areas with picnic tables and grills. Some of these are set among the trees which provide a shady area, while others are in open sunnier areas. There is a lovely large shallow pond that is for children to swim in which has a lifeguard on duty. Also a great place to kayak in the wetland area. There are bathrooms and changing rooms. However there is no kiosk to buy food from, so bring your own lunch and snacks.

Goose Rocks Beach is undoubtedly one of the nicest beaches in the Northeast. It is truly a family beach with soft sand and a protected shore that allows small children to play in the water without massive waves. The water temperature is not as low as you might think - it's very enjoyable and refreshing, even for grandparents! Sand Dollar Real Estate is the place to go to find convenient rental properties.
