Top 10 Beaches in Adeje, Canary Islands

April 10, 2022 Sheron Bogner

With the dramatic backdrop of 12,200-foot Mount Teide towering behind the resort, Adeje makes an unforgettable vacation destination. Adeje is less than two miles from the boisterous nightlife of Playa de las Americas, allowing visitors to choose whether to take it easy or to party. Bake in the sun on black volcanic sands before cooling down at a water park, such as popular Siam Park, or out windsurfing. Barranco del Infierno, Hell's Gorge, is a lush oasis, perfect for hiking.

Playa de Fanabe

We had a lovely day strolling along the Playa Fanabe, we stopped off to have milkshakes at Gelateria Exotica after having a game of crazy golf which I lost to my husband!! :-( There are lots of shops, restaurants and places to look at the beautiful views. The beaches were sandy and the sea was calm in the little coves. The only thing that spoiled our time was the people who kept trying to sell us things which we weren't interested in.

Playa del Puertito

My favourite beach, there was rock pools with plenty of fish, crabs and star fish and apparently there are turtles further out which many boats brought snorklers to but we didn't swim this far out. Lovely little cafe lots of doggie visitors which we adored. It was so nice to visit a beach where you weren't being harassed to buy fruit, have your hair braided or buy sheets. It's a bit out of the way but only took us about 20 mins to walk from playa paraisio but if you come by car there is plenty of parking. Beautiful place will definetely visit again.

Nice clean and safe beach with lots of bars and restaurants at the back, easy to get to from either direction of Adeje and close to all the amenities that you would want, just opposite the marina.

Playa de Ajabo

This beach is really lovely! Super clean, and not too packed (although it could have been the time of year)! You can rent Sunbeds for a couple of Euros. The beach is only a few minutes walk from Callao Salvaje, perfect if you are staying in Pearly Grey or Tropical Park. One think I will say, as it is black sand, it is very rough on your feet and you will not be able to go into the Sea without shoes on, so if you have swim shoes handy or can purchase them somewhere do bring them with you!
