Top 10 Beach & Pool Clubs in Yucatan Peninsula, Yucatan Peninsula

June 26, 2021 Jeremy Dunfee

Hidden gems of Yucatan, such as Tulum, Akumal, Chetumal, Chichen Itza and Merida, offer an authentic taste of Mexico. Akumal and more Caribbean-style Chetumal, near the Belize border, deliver delectable white-sand beaches and great snorkelling. Merida, Chichen Itza and Tulum, with their ancient ruins, offer a passage into the Yucatanâs native history. Nature lovers can jungle trek and swim in subterranean sinkholes filled with crystal-clear water. Bike around the ruins and hop between towns in colectivo vans.

We visited Maya Chan Beach while on a cruise. It was perfect : super friendly staff, very good homemade food, excellent bar service, nice floating chairs and paddle board, nice sandy beach and refreshing pool. We had a beach cabana with chairs, day bed and hammock for ourselves. Could not ask for better because it was THE best. Can’t go wrong with this gem!

The Original Mexican Cuisine Cooking Class at Playa Mia

The most demanded and oldest word-of-mouth Mexican cuisine cooking class on Cozumel. You will spend a wonderful time from start to end and lots of fun. Meet the Mexican chef who will guide you through the art and fun of preparing an exquisite three-course Mexican meal. Once you finish your creation, enjoy it, along with a well-deserved savory cocktail, at a private oceanfront dining room in great company and with a terrific view.

This is definitely a must do if you've ever had any interest in doing a cooking class (both my husband and I cook often but thought this would be something different to do). The day started off slow (first we had to wait for a bus which was not in the best years of it's life and then we had to wait additional time for the chef because he was "very busy") but once they called us in, it was so fun! You're in a building overlooking the ocean while you cook. The chef and assistance were VERY amusing and a lot of fun! We made an appetizer, main course and dinner. When we were done we went upstairs to enjoy what we made and when we were done we were free to do what we wanted for the remainder of the time. Next time we come back to Cozumel, I will definately come back! Such a fun time!!

Fantastic experience! From beginning to end we were treated as if we were the most important people in the world. Snorkeling was excellent and we couldn’t ask for better service. Lunch afterwards was more of the same great service, food was excellent as were the margaritas we were served. Cannot recommend The Kay Club highly enough, absolutely top rate!

Kool Beach is a charming, clean and well-organized beach. The food and drinks are excellent, although the problem of water algae in the area, it has been relatively clean because the place is very concerned about cleaning the water. Playa Azul

Reviewed By PoohNP

We were visiting Cozumel for the second time and wanted to do something relaxing with our children, We took a cab from Punta Langosta ( and yes the cab driver tried to dissuade us from going to Playa Azul) to Playa Azul. I believe it was Isidore who gave us chairs and a menu. We all enjoyed the water, and were able to see a decent amount of fish with snorkel mask. We ordered beef nachos and a quesadilla, a couple beers and a cocktail and they also gave us chips and salsa. The food was very good and so was the service and the price. We would definitely visit Playa Azul again.
