Well, what can you say? Lockdown has provided the Craigs (Landlords) with the chance to spruce the place up. Tom & Vikki have achieved a minor miracle with the loos! Blimey, like going into a Marriott hotel bog.... mind you, I kinda miss the old intimacy it had before...... and the smell. Still the best pub in Herts, hands down, despite the new tartan curtains. Beer is outstandingly good quality and always a good choice of Inde real ales, along with a cider or two. Oh, and the car park is less Himalayan. As they say, all things must change but, thank goodness, only for the better at this gem of a treasured hostelry. Well done guys :-)

Club 85 is Hertfordshire's best and only dedicated live music venue which regularly hosts a wide variety of live music and DJs. Along with two well stocked bars and good facilities it is ready to entertain you all night long!

Went to this venue to see my favourite band from Rochester . Great venue upstairs , spacious and well decorated for bands / gigs . Bar prices pretty standard . Friendly staff .

Amazing atmosphere, great table service and lovely staff. Good hygiene and COVID friendly. They even had a pool table which my friends and I enjoyed.

Visited the reading rooms recently after their reopening and I’m so glad I did! Such a cozy, friendly and welcoming environment with the lovely April behind the bar serving up delicious pints of farr brew. An absolute gem. Will be recommending to all of my friends! 5 stars!

We were hungry and decided to stop of and have a Sunday roast rather than cooking when we got home. Best decision we made , we were greeted by the Landlord what a really nice guy he was. Explained that we had arrived between sittings and we could wait and hour for the next, we explained that we wanted to get home after our journey. The landlord, was able to with some help from the chef able to get us two most amazing Sunday roast beef with all the trimming together. He was explained, that he only had a few bits and pieces left. It was home made and delicious. We finished off with homemade pavlova which his wife had made that morning. We had a piano being played whilst we are. I couldn’t move. We will be going back for sure it’s on my Sunday roast list now and not to be missed. Family, homemade, warm , friendly, traditional, local pub. Thank you we appreciated all you did for us.

My wife and her friends play bridge here from time to time. They are well looked after and the group really enjoys the curry lunch they have during their break They always enjoy coming here and my role is to collect my wife afterwards. The last time there, I thanked Ricky for having them so well looked after and said out of appreciation, I would like to leave a review on trip advisor, so here it is.

Great service, great food and a great pub to have a drink with friends. Definitely recommend.... the food is unbelievable as well as the hospitality! We as a group of friends will be going to The Bull more often that's for sure.
