Located on the banks of the Mekong River, Vientiane is a city steeped in legend and history. The city is the home of the massive gilded stupa, Pha That Luang, a national symbol of Laos. The streets are lined with trees, French colonial buildings, street markets, Buddhist temples, and noodle shops. Just outside the city is Buddha Park, a garden littered with over 200 cement sculptures depicting the gods and monsters of Buddhist and Hindu myth.

the Côté Jardin is tranquility a few minutes in the heart of Vientiane,a shaded garden,it is good to take time with a cuisine with Provencal scents without "Tralala"..Chef Jean-Marc and his wife at your service 11am to 10h30pm,Menu each day $8 only,Pizzas
Set in beautiful gardens this is a great place to eat out. The food is excellent the sources have delicate flavours and it's all presented like a work of art. I like the lunch menus which can be found on their facebook page every Tuesday. The portions are not overly large but if you are really hungry get some extra fries. The lunch menu is served from 11 to 4 so if like me you like a late lunch then this place is perfect. If you have particular tastes the chef/owner is happy to oblige.Jean-Marc D, Owner of Côté Jardin Restaurant,Thank you very much for taking the time to write a few lines.Yes I want to stay affordable and attentive with everyone, a restaurant must remain a place where we must relax and be served at the hours that we appreciate .. thank you for your visit ... The new location for the Highland Bar is right on the river on the dirt section of Fa Ngum Rd, just before Moon the Night restaurant.
I go here when I need some good British food. Best pies in Vientiane and the Sunday Roast rotates through beef, lamb, pork. Not huge but perfectly adequate with Yorkshire pudding like my mum made. Excellent staff and the owner is one of Vientiane's characters! However if all you want is cold beer and a good view this place is unbeatable.

Great atmosphere, wonderful classy service, great drink specials, but let's face it, it's about the food.I give full marks on every component. The lamb was superb, but they served it on a bed of Smokey, roasted, then sauteed mushrooms that were to die for, served it with a peppery salad of lambs lettuce and ridicchio wow, drizzled a thick turmeric based roux decoratively across the plate and added sides of rich gravy and the most spectacular potatoes au gratine ~ cheesey, rich with a base of sauteed veg that set it off as so unique ~ wow.And then the starter, a goat cheese stuffed spring roll to die for, infused with turmeric and more. Just so special.Full marks team, I may in fact return tomorrow, certainly again before we leave town.

We sat outside and enjoyed some delicious food. The menue is mixed Asian/European. They offer great NZ and OZ wine - of course the owners are Australians - we actually met the mother of the lady owner at the Ansara hotel. The service is efficient and friendly. If you fancy a change to the food stalls on the Mekong Water Front come here.Thank you so much,Reviews like this are always welcome and makes it all worth while for the team at Sticky's. You actually met my mum when she was last in town? I'll have to let her know she got a mention; it'll make her day.Hope to see you again,Sophie

Whether you are looking for a peaceful waterfront breakfast, a lunchtime burger washed down with an ice cold beer, a simple glass of wine as the sun sets and ignites the Mekong or a seductive evening with the finest classic and contemporary cocktails in V
Visited a couple of times during my stay in Vientiane and after reading some of the reviews I thought I had got the wrong bar but no this is the Spirit House Bar and Restaurant and my visit bore no resemblance to some of the other reviews. Drinks were great and their cocktail mixing was second to none. Food was presented in a timely manner was tasty and not over priced. Some expats to be seen but faces from around the world frequenting. Managed to speak to teh owner and some of the staff and I got the impression that they really care about the service and food quaility. Well worth a visit.
Top 5 Mediterranean food in Vientiane, Vientiane Prefecture, Laos

The food choice is truly French, and the service is very friendly. Be there early because they have only roughly 8 tables inside and 4 tables outside, which quickly fill up. And maybe you want to sit inside because the restaurant is located on a busy road.

We called in here to sample some craft beers and for a light dinner. We were not disappointed! We were served by friendly, efficient staff. There is a wide selection of draught and bottled beer available and all served in their own unique glasses, which is a nice touch. The prices aren't too bad, obviously more than beer Lao (which is also served) but reasonable for imported craft ale. There is also a wide food menu. I had a lovely pate with nice crusty, sour bread and pickles and my husband loved the Laos sausage. We had a very pleasant evening here in a nice atmospheric place, would definitely visit again.

After a few days of being re-introduced to the spice and heat of SEA cuisine, the gastro system did call out forassistance, if not outright surrender. A philly cheesesteak to re-grease is just the ticket. Cheap, good, and straightforward, its the lunchtime equivalent of a 2am college run, with beer. Sizable portions; easy location.
