Went before a night out in Chester for some food and a couple of drinks before catching the train with friends, nice reserved table. Ordered our food and staff were very helpful and friendly and always smiling, food was to die for, almost ordered again but would of missed the train, friends sung praise about it after we left, couldnât of done anymore for us, brilliant

This was our second visit to this lovely little bar in the centre of Stockton Heath - what a find!Itâs cool, chic and serves fabulous drinks with friendly and helpful staff. Itâs not cheap, but itâs worth every penny.We went for a variety of gins which were served in gin goblets with a range of tonics and garnishes.Great atmosphere and staff were helpful in helping us choose which drinks to have.Our new favourite place for a great night out. Weâll be back.

Went for a family christening and we had the upper level area with a delicious buffet. There was plenty of food and everything was freshly cooked with lots of nice crisp salad. Nice decor and plenty of seating. Service at the bar was quick and friendly and drinks reasonably priced,

Visited on Sunday with my wife & Cousins after seeing excellent reviews on here.I had heard the steak pie was excellent so after speaking to the lady waiting on tables she also recommended it.Three of us had starters that were excellent and then my pie arrived. It was black all burnt at the back and my cousin had the lamb with a burnt Yorkshire pudding. The other two meals we had were fine.The lady did pop back and very quickly asked if everything was alright and my wife said yes as was unaware how unhappy I was. We finished our meal and I left all the pie crust.As the lady came back to collect outcome plates I showed her the burn pie and she said if I had mentioned it she would have changed it.I do not understand how it could have left the kitchen burnt. We saw several other people having burn Yorkshire puddings.My wife and cousin had a sweet both said very good.The bar man was excellent at advising his beers so it could have been an excellent visit ruined for me by a burnt pie.I only rated it very good because two of the meals were excellent and bar service very good.Please have better quality control of food leaving your kitchen and it will be excellent if we decide to visit again. Thank you for your review, apologies for the over done pie. As you said it most certainly shouldnât of been served and I can assure you this was an isolated incident. This was my first outing since my husband died two months ago, and decided to visit this pub after visiting my mum who now lives in Latchford. I called in on Saturday dinnertime. The pub was pretty quiet, and I ordered a diet coke and a cheese, caramalised onion and chutney sandwich, which was lovely. The only disappointing thing that I wasn't keen on was when a couple came in with their puppy, and were shown to a table right behind me, then another couple came in a few minutes later with an older dog, who also sat behind me. No one bothered to ask me if it was ok to have dogs that were 2ft away from where I was eating.Hello,Thank you for taking time to review the Pickering arms, really glad you enjoyed your food.Really sorry but we were not aware you had a problem with the dogs, unfortunately you were sat in the bar/vault area which is where we welcome all our dogs.The restaurant area is dog free.I hope this clears things up for you and please feel free to give us a call to reserve a table in the restaurant if you wish to dine with us again.Kind regards.Christine, Jim and team pick.

Loved this place. Been a few times over the years. However, on my last couple of visits I have noticed the lack of attentiveness from staff. I had to ask for everything- menus drinks and to order food. Cutlery wasn't placed ready for our meal. The food is still good. Toilets are bad. Urgent need of a refit! Wont be going again unfortunately.

11 of us visited on a busy friday night, the table was ready for us when we arrived. The food was served quickly, staff were very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. Bar staff were friendly and served us all quickly. Overall the pub is ran very efficiently and the food and staff are amazing would definitely recommend.Lovely to read your comments about your experience, I'll make sure to pass them on to the rest of the team. We are local and eat here often , tonight with our elderly parents who are always made to feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The specials tonight were exceptional and huge portions , we had to bring some of the chicken home with us!!Thank you for the excellent review. What a fabulous evening. Steve Brookstein X Factor winner singing and the best vegan meal ever. Healthy and delicious Cauliflower Steak followed by lemon cheesecake. Best meal Iâve had in the village for a long time. Sunday lunch - perfect. Plenty on the plate. Huge gravy boat, always a good thing. Very tasty indeed. Cauliflower cheese to share between two , was delicious also.Service was spot on throughout . And the atmosphere was very nice indeed, nice music & vibe.Lovely bar / restaurant . One we will be visiting many many times.
